Materials

• Light worsted weight yarn (DK) in Lime Green, Coffee Brown, and a small scrap of White
• 2.5 mm crochet hook
• Two 6mm black safety eyes
• Black embroidery floss for the smile
• Fiberfill stuffing
• Keychain ring and jump ring
• Yarn needle and scissors

Head (Lime Green Yarn):

• Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
• Rnd 6-12: sc in each st around (30)
• Note: Insert 6mm safety eyes between Rnds 9 & 10, approximately 5 stitches apart. Embroider a tiny ‘V’ shaped smile centered between the eyes.
• Rnd 13: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
• Rnd 14: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)
• Stuff the head firmly with fiberfill.
• Rnd 15: (1 sc, dec) x 6 (12)
• Rnd 16: 6 dec (6)
• Fasten off, weave in ends.

Antennae (Make 2 – Lime Green Yarn):

• Rnd 1: MR, 4 sc (4)
• Rnd 2: (1 sc, inc) x 2 (6)
• Rnd 3: sc in each st around (6)
• Rnd 4: (1 sc, dec) x 2 (4)
• Rnd 5-6: sc in each st around (4)
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing to the top of the head.

Legs & Body (Lime Green Yarn):

Leg 1:

• Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc (6)
• Rnd 2: (2 sc, inc) x 2 (8)
• Rnd 3-4: sc in each st around (8)
• Fasten off Leg 1.

Leg 2:

• Rnd 1-4: Repeat instructions for Leg 1. Do not cut yarn.
• Rnd 5: ch 2, join to Leg 1 with a sc. sc around Leg 1 (8 sts), sc in 2 chs, sc around Leg 2 (8 sts), sc in opposite side of 2 chs (20 sts).
• Rnd 6-10: sc in each st around (20)
• Rnd 11: (3 sc, dec) x 4 (16)
• Stuff the legs and body firmly.
• Rnd 12: (2 sc, dec) x 4 (12)
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Arms (Make 2 – Lime Green Yarn):

• Rnd 1: MR, 5 sc (5)
• Rnd 2-6: sc around (5)
• Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Do not stuff.

Mini Coffee Mug (Brown Yarn):

• Rnd 1: MR, 6 sc (6)
• Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
• Rnd 3: In BLO, sc around (12)
• Rnd 4-6: sc around (12)
• Fasten off. To make the handle: join brown yarn to the side, ch 4, slip stitch 3 rows down, and fasten off.
• To make the steam detail: Join white yarn at the top inside of the mug, chain 5, and twist it slightly to mimic rising steam. Fasten off and secure inside.

Assembly:

• Sew the head onto the body securely.
• Sew the two antennae on top of the head, slightly angled outwards.
• Sew the arms to the sides of the body. Fold one arm forward to hold the coffee cup.
• Position the tiny coffee mug in front of the alien and sew it securely to the body and the hands.
• Attach a jump ring and keychain to the very top of the alien’s head between the antennae.
