Materials

Worsted weight yarn in Red (approx. 200g)
Worsted weight yarn in White (approx. 150g)

Abbreviations

Instructions

Gauge: 16 hdc x 12 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in hdc stripes.

Notes: Work in continuous rounds unless specified. Change color by pulling new color through last loop of previous stitch. Carry unused color loosely up the inside of the work if changing frequently.

Romper (Bottom-Up)

Legs (Make 2)

With Red yarn:
Rnd 1: Ch 25, sl st to first ch to form a ring (be careful not to twist). Ch 1, 24 hdc in ring. (24 hdc)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, hdc in each st around. Join with sl st. (24 hdc)
Change to White yarn.
Rnd 3-4: Ch 1, hdc in each st around. Join with sl st. (24 hdc)
Repeat Rnd 1-4 for stripe pattern (2 Rnds Red, 2 Rnds White) for a total of 20 rounds or until leg measures desired length from ankle to crotch.
F.O. one leg. Do NOT F.O. second leg.

Joining Legs & Body

Continue with White yarn on second leg.
Rnd 21: Ch 3 (crotch chains), join with sl st to first leg (any st). Ch 1, hdc in each of the 24 hdc around first leg, hdc in each of the 3 ch, hdc in each of the 24 hdc around second leg, hdc in each of the 3 ch. Join with sl st. (54 hdc)
Change to Red yarn.
Rnd 22: Ch 1, hdc in each st around. (54 hdc)
Continue stripe pattern (2 Rnds Red, 2 Rnds White) for the body. Work for approximately 10-12 rounds, or until desired length to armholes.

Dividing for Armholes & Shaping

Next Row (Red): Ch 1, hdc in first 27 st. Turn. (27 hdc for Front)
Continue in rows, working Front and Back separately, maintaining stripe pattern.
Front: Work 6-8 rows straight (or until desired armhole depth). For neckline, work 10 hdc, skip 7 st, 10 hdc. Work 2 rows on each 10 st section for shoulder straps.
Back: Work same number of rows as Front for armhole depth. Work straight. For back opening, split in half and work 2 separate panels (each 13-14 st) for 2-4 rows.
Seam shoulders.

Sleeves (Make 2)

Attach Red yarn at bottom of armhole.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 24 hdc evenly around armhole opening. Join with sl st. (24 hdc)
Rnd 2-10: Continue stripe pattern (2 Rnds Red, 2 Rnds White) for 9 rounds, or until desired sleeve length.

Santa Hat

With Red yarn:
Rnd 1: Magic ring, ch 1, 6 hdc in ring. (6 hdc)
Rnd 2: Inc in each st around. (12 hdc)
Rnd 3: (Hdc in next st, inc in next st) repeat around. (18 hdc)
Rnd 4-10: Continue increasing evenly by 6 hdc per round until hat base measures desired circumference (approx. 54 hdc for baby). Work 2 rounds Red, 2 rounds White for stripes after initial shaping.
Work straight in stripe pattern for 5-7 rounds.
Brim (White yarn):
Rnd 1: Ch 1, hdc in BLO of each st around. (54 hdc)
