Materials

• Red DK (light worsted) yarn
• White DK (light worsted) yarn
• 4.0mm (G/6) crochet hook
• Yarn needle

Instructions

This pattern is written for a baby size 3-6 months. Adjust hook size or add/subtract rows/stitches for different sizes.

Santa Hat (Red & White)

Using Red yarn:

• Rnd 1: Make a magic ring, ch 2 (does not count as st), 10 hdc into ring, pull tight to close. Join with sl st to first hdc. (10 hdc)
• Rnd 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in each st around. Join. (20 hdc)
• Rnd 3: Ch 2, (1 hdc, 2 hdc in next st) around. Join. (30 hdc)
• Rnd 4: Ch 2, (2 hdc, 2 hdc in next st) around. Join. (40 hdc)
• Rnd 5: Ch 2, (3 hdc, 2 hdc in next st) around. Join. (50 hdc)
• Rnd 6-15: Ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around. Join. (50 hdc) – or continue until desired hat length before brim.
• Change to White yarn:
• Rnd 16-18 (Brim): Ch 1, 1 sc in each st around. Join. (50 sc)
• Fo, weave in ends.

Pompom: Make a small pompom using White yarn and attach securely to the top of the hat.

Baby Santa Dress (Red & White)

Yoke (Red)

Using Red yarn, ch 48 (adjust as needed for neck opening).

• Row 1: Hdc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 2, turn. (46 hdc)
• Row 2: 1 hdc in first 6 sts (back panel), (2 hdc, ch 1, 2 hdc) in next st (corner), 1 hdc in next 8 sts (sleeve), (2 hdc, ch 1, 2 hdc) in next st (corner), 1 hdc in next 10 sts (front panel), (2 hdc, ch 1, 2 hdc) in next st (corner), 1 hdc in next 8 sts (sleeve), (2 hdc, ch 1, 2 hdc) in next st (corner), 1 hdc in last 6 sts (back panel). Ch 2, turn. (Increases at corners create raglan shape)
• Row 3-5: Repeat Row 2, working hdc into hdc and (2 hdc, ch 1, 2 hdc) into each ch-1 space. Adjust number of hdc between corners accordingly. At the end of Row 5, ch 2, turn.
• Divide for Sleeves and Body: Ch 2, hdc across first back panel, skip sleeve stitches, hdc across front panel, skip sleeve stitches, hdc across second back panel. Join with sl st to first hdc to form a circle.

Body of Dress (Red)

Continue in Red yarn, working in rounds.

• Rnd 1: Ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around. Join.
• Rnd 2: Ch 2, (2 hdc, 2 hdc in next st) around. Join. (This starts the skirt flare)
• Rnd 3-5: Ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around. Join.
• Rnd 6: Ch 2, (3 hdc, 2 hdc in next st) around. Join.
• Rnd 7-10: Ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around. Join. – Repeat increase rnds every 4-5 rnds, or as desired for flare, until dress reaches desired length before trim.
• Change to White yarn:
• Last 2 Rnds (Hem Trim): Ch 1, 1 sc in each st around. Join.
• Fo, weave in ends.

Sleeves (Red & White – make 2)

Attach Red yarn to an armhole.

• Rnd 1: Ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around the armhole opening. Join.
• Rnd 2-8: Ch 2, 1 hdc in each st around. Join. – (Adjust length as desired)
• Change to White yarn:
• Rnd 9-10 (Cuff): Ch 1, 1 sc in each st around. Join.
• Fo, weave in ends. Repeat for the second sleeve.

Collar (White)

Using White yarn, ch 32.

• Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next 28 ch, 2 sc in last ch. (31 sc). Ch 1, turn.
• Row 2: 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 29 sc, 2 sc in last st. (33 sc). Ch 1, turn.
• Row 3: 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 31 sc, 2 sc in last st. (35 sc). Ch 1, turn.
• Row 4: 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next 33 sc, 2 sc in last st. (37 sc). Ch 1, turn.
• Edging: Ch 1, turn. Sc evenly around the entire collar, working 3 sc in each corner to create a rounded edge. Join with sl st to first sc.
• Fo, leaving a long tail for sewing.
• Assembly: Pin the collar to the neckline of the dress, ensuring it sits flat and evenly. Sew securely in place with the yarn needle.
