Materials

• Sport weight cotton yarn in Dark Green, Medium Yellow, Pale Yellow, White, and Black
• 2.5 mm crochet hook
• Two tiny 3mm black safety eyes (or black embroidery floss)
• Polyester fiberfill stuffing
• Yarn needle and scissors
• Metal keychain ring with lobster clasp

Instructions

1. Tiny Amigurumi Bee Body:

Using Medium Yellow yarn:

• Rnd 1: Start with 6 sc in a MR (6)
• Rnd 2: (sc, inc) x 3 (9)
• Change to Black yarn:
• Rnd 3: sc in each st around (9)
• Change to Medium Yellow yarn:
• Rnd 4: sc in each st around (9)
• Change to Black yarn:
• Rnd 5: sc in each st around (9)
• Change to Medium Yellow yarn:
• Rnd 6: (sc, dec) x 3 (6)

Stuff the body lightly with fiberfill. Thread a needle through the front loops of the remaining 6 stitches, pull tight to close, and weave in your ends.

2. Bee Wings (Make 2):

Using White yarn:

• In a MR, work: ch 2, 2 hdc, ch 2, sl st. Pull the ring tight. F/O leaving a short tail for sewing. Sew the wings to the top of the bee’s body on the black striped section. Add tiny black knots for the antennae and eyes on the yellow head.

  3. Rolled Rose Petals:

  Using Pale Yellow yarn (switch colors to White/Cream on the last row for the variegated petal edge look):

  • Row 1: Ch 31. Work 1 dc in the 4th ch from hook, *ch 1, skip 1 ch, (1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc) in the next ch. Repeat from * to the end of the chain. Turn.
  • Row 2: Ch 3, work 5 dc in each ch-1 space across the entire row, securing each petal with a sl st between the shell groups. Switch to White yarn for the final few petals to match the accent coloring. F/O, leaving a long tail for sewing.
  • Roll the strip into a tight rose shape, starting from the smaller end, and sew the bottom secure with your yarn tail.

  4. Green Leaves Base:

  Using Dark Green yarn:

  • Rnd 1: 6 sc in a MR (6)
  • Rnd 2: inc in each st around (12)
  • Rnd 3: (sc, inc) x 6 (18)
  • Leaf Petals (Make 5 around the circle): *Ch 5, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next, hdc in next, dc in last ch. Skip 2 sts on the round circle, sl st into the 3rd st. Repeat from * 5 times to create a five-pointed leaf star. F/O.

  5. Hanging Loop & Assembly:

  • Using Pale Yellow yarn, attach to the center back of the leaves, chain 15, and slip stitch back into the starting point to create a hanging loop. Securely attach your keychain hardware to this loop.
  • Glue or sew the rolled rose directly to the center of the green leaves base.
  • Nestle the completed little bee into the center of the yellow rose petals, and secure it with a few hidden stitches using yellow yarn.
