Materials

• Lace weight yarn (Size 10 thread) or superfine yarn in Yellow, Black, Blue, White, Red, and Dark Gray
• 1.25 mm crochet hook
• Thin bendable craft wire (for bicycle frame)
• Two 2mm black seed beads for eyes
• Black embroidery thread
• Fiberfill stuffing
• Keychain ring with chain
• Tapestry needle and craft glue

• ch – chain
• sc – single crochet
• inc – increase (2 sc in one stitch)
• dec – decrease (sc 2 stitches together)

Instructions

Bee Body: Start with Yellow yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
Rnd 2: inc in each st (12).
Rnd 3: [sc, inc] repeat 6 times (18).
Rnd 4: [2 sc, inc] repeat 6 times (24).
Rnds 5-6: sc in each st (24).
Switch to Black yarn.
Rnds 7-8: sc in each st (24).
Switch to Yellow yarn.
Rnds 9-10: sc in each st (24).
Switch to Black yarn.
Rnds 11-12: sc in each st (24).
Switch to Yellow yarn.
Rnd 13: [2 sc, dec] repeat 6 times (18). Stuff firmly with fiberfill.
Rnd 14: [sc, dec] repeat 6 times (12).
Rnd 15: dec 6 times (6). Fasten off and weave in ends.

Wings (Make 2): Using White yarn.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6).
Rnd 2: inc in each st (12).
Rnd 3: [sc, inc] repeat 6 times (18). Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Sew both wings to the back of the bee on the yellow stripe closest to the head.

Bicycle Wheels (Make 2): Using Dark Gray yarn.
Ch 16, join to form a circle. Work 24 sc into the ring. Fasten off. Use a thin light gray thread or sewing needle to create the spokes by weaving back and forth across the center.

Bicycle Frame: Cut a piece of craft wire approximately 12 inches long. Using Blue yarn, attach to the wire and single crochet tightly over the wire to completely cover it. Bend the wire carefully to form the diamond frame of the bicycle, the fork, and the handlebars. Glue the ends to secure.

Assembly & Details:
1. Embroider a small smile with black embroidery floss and sew the two black seed beads on the face of the bee.
2. Add tiny antennae using thin black yarn knotted at the ends.
3. Crochet a tiny saddle using Red yarn (Ch 4, sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc, 3 sc in last st, work down the other side of the chain, fasten off) and attach to the bicycle seat post.
4. Mount the bee onto the bicycle saddle, and use thin black strands of yarn to secure the bee’s hands to the handlebars and its feet to the pedal area.
5. Attach the keychain ring securely to the top of the bee’s head.
