Materials

Instructions

Head and Body (White Yarn)

• Round 1: Start with 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
• Round 2: [inc] repeat 6 times (12)
• Round 3: [1 sc, inc] repeat 6 times (18)
• Round 4: [2 sc, inc] repeat 6 times (24)
• Round 5: [3 sc, inc] repeat 6 times (30)
• Round 6: [4 sc, inc] repeat 6 times (36)
• Rounds 7-15: sc in each stitch around (36)
• Round 16: [4 sc, dec] repeat 6 times (30)
• Rounds 17-20: sc in each stitch around (30)
• Round 21: [3 sc, dec] repeat 6 times (24)
• Rounds 22-24: sc in each stitch around (24)
• Round 25: [2 sc, dec] repeat 6 times (18). Stuff the head and body firmly.

Flippers (Make 2 – White Yarn)

• Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Flatten the flippers and sew them to the sides of the body.

Tail Fins (Make 2 – White Yarn)

• Fasten off, leaving a tail. Sew both fins together and attach them to the bottom tip of the body.

Barista Apron (Brown Yarn)

• Row 1: Ch 9, starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 8 sts (8), turn
• Rows 2-6: Ch 1, sc in each stitch across (8), turn
• Row 7: Ch 1, dec, sc in next 4 sts, dec (6), turn
• Ch 12 to create the neck strap, sl st to the opposite corner of Row 7 to attach. Fasten off.
• For the waist ties, join brown yarn to one side of Row 1, ch 15, fasten off. Repeat on the other side.
• Using white embroidery thread, embroider a miniature coffee cup design and the word ‘BARISTA’ across the front panel of the apron.

Barista Cap (Dark Brown Yarn)

• Round 1: Start with 6 sc in a magic ring (6)
• Round 2: [inc] repeat 6 times (12)
• Round 3: [1 sc, inc] repeat 6 times (18)
• Rounds 4-5: sc in each stitch around (18)
• Sl st to the first stitch, fasten off leaving a long tail. Sew the cap securely to the top of the beluga’s head.

Mini Coffee Cup (Light & Dark Brown Yarn)

• Cup: Using light brown yarn, start with 6 sc in a magic ring (6).
• Round 2: Working in BLO, sc in each stitch around (6).
• Rounds 3-4: sc in each stitch around (6). Fasten off.
• Lid: Using dark brown yarn, start with 6 sc in a magic ring (6). Sl st to join, then fasten off leaving a sewing tail. Sew the lid onto the top of the cup.
• Wrap a small strip of medium-brown yarn around the middle of the cup to act as a sleeve, then sew the cup to one of the flippers.

Assembly and Facial Details

• Insert or glue 6mm safety eyes between rounds 11 and 12, leaving approximately 8 stitches of space in between.
• Embroider a small, gentle curved smile using black embroidery floss right between the eyes.
• Add tiny pink blush lines just beneath the outer corners of the eyes.
• Tie the apron securely around the beluga’s neck and waist.
