Santa Hat (Red with White Trim)

• Using Red yarn:
• Rnd 1: Start with a magic ring, ch 2 (does not count as st), 10 hdc into ring. Join with sl st to first hdc. (10 hdc)
• Rnd 2: Ch 2, hdc inc in each st around. Join. (20 hdc)
• Rnd 3: Ch 2, (hdc in next st, hdc inc in next st) rep around. Join. (30 hdc)
• Rnd 4: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. Join. (30 hdc)
• Rnd 5: Ch 2, (hdc in next 2 sts, hdc inc in next st) rep around. Join. (40 hdc)

• Continue decreasing in this manner, reducing by 4 stitches every 2-3 rounds, until you have approx. 8-10 stitches remaining. Work 2-3 rounds straight, then FO, leaving a long tail. Weave tail through remaining sts and pull tight to close.
• Hat Brim:
• Using White yarn: Attach white yarn to the bottom edge of the hat.
• Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st.
• Rnd 2-3: Ch 1, sc in BLO in each st around. Join with sl st. FO.
• Create a white pom-pom and securely attach it to the tip of the hat.

• Rnd 11-18: This section incorporates the reindeer and snowflake motifs using tapestry crochet. Work hdc stitches, changing colors as needed to create the designs. Place one reindeer centrally on the front and one on the back. Add small white snowflakes around them. You will need to carry the yarn not in use or use separate bobbins for each color section.
