Materials

• DK weight yarn in Cream, Brown, and Pink
• Bulky fluffy/chenille yarn in White (or standard white yarn worked in bobble stitch)
• 2.5 mm crochet hook (for the cow) and 3.5 mm hook (for the fluffy costume)
• Two 6mm safety eyes
• Fiberfill stuffing
• Yarn needle and scissors
• Pink blush (optional, for cheeks)

• bo – bobble stitch (4 dc cluster in same stitch)

Instructions

Head:

Using Cream yarn and 2.5 mm hook:

• R1: MR 6 sc (6)
• R2: inc in each st around (12)
• R3: (1 sc, inc) x6 (18)
• R4: (2 sc, inc) x6 (24)
• R5: (3 sc, inc) x6 (30)
• R6: (4 sc, inc) x6 (36)
• R7-12: sc in each st around (36) – Note: To create the brown head spot, work the first 8 stitches of R8-11 in Brown yarn, then switch back to Cream.
• Insert safety eyes between R9 and R10, leaving about 7 stitches of space between them.
• R13: (4 sc, dec) x6 (30)
• R14: (3 sc, dec) x6 (24)
• R15: (2 sc, dec) x6 (18)
• Stuff the head firmly with fiberfill.
• R16: (1 sc, dec) x6 (12)
• R17: dec x6 (6). Fasten off and weave in ends.

Snout:

Using Pink yarn:

• Ch 5, start in 2nd ch from hook: 3 sc, 3 sc in the last chain. Turn to work along the opposite side of the chain: 2 sc, inc in the last st (10)
• R2: inc, 2 sc, inc x3, 2 sc, inc x2 (16)
• R3: sc around (16). Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
• Sew the snout onto the face between the eyes, stuffing it lightly before closing. Embroider two small vertical nostrils using brown thread.

Ears & Horns (Make 2 of each):

For the ears, make one Cream and one Brown:

• R1: MR 4 sc (4)
• R2: (1 sc, inc) x2 (6)
• R3: (2 sc, inc) x2 (8)
• R4: sc around (8). Flatten and sew to the sides of the head.

Fluffy Sheep Costume (Body & Hood):

Using White fluffy yarn and 3.5 mm hook:

• Hood: MR 6 sc. R2: inc around (12). R3: (1 sc, inc) around (18). R4: (2 sc, inc) around (24). R5-8: sc around (24), leaving an opening at the front for the cow’s face. Fasten off and fit onto the head, sewing it securely in place.
• Body: MR 6 sc. R2: inc around (12). R3: (1 sc, inc) around (18). R4: (2 sc, inc) around (24). R5-9: sc around (24). Stuff and sew to the head.

Arms and Legs:

Using Brown (for hooves) and Cream yarn:

• Start with Brown: MR 6 sc. R2: sc around (6).
• Switch to Cream: R3-6: sc around (6).
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew the limbs onto the body underneath the fluffy sheep costume.
