Materials

• Sport weight cotton yarn in Yellow, Orange, Red, Brown, Light Blue, White, and Navy Blue

Instructions

Duck Head & Body: Work in continuous rounds with Yellow yarn. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6). Rnd 2: 6 inc (12). Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x6 (18). Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x6 (24). Rnd 5-9: 24 sc (24). Rnd 10: (2 sc, dec) x6 (18). Insert safety eyes between rounds 7 and 8, spaced 5 stitches apart. Stuff the head. Rnd 11: 18 inc (36) (forming the shoulders). Rnd 12-16: 36 sc (36). Rnd 17: (4 sc, dec) x6 (30). Rnd 18: (3 sc, dec) x6 (24). Rnd 19: (2 sc, dec) x6 (18). Stuff the body firmly. Rnd 20: (1 sc, dec) x6 (12). Rnd 21: 6 dec (6). Fasten off and weave in ends.

Beak: With Orange yarn, ch 4. Row 1: Starting in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 chs, 3 sc in last ch, turn to work on opposite side of chain, sc in next 2 chs. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Sew to the face directly between the eyes.

Wings (Make 2): Start with Yellow yarn. Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR. Rnd 2: (1 sc, inc) x3 (9). Rnd 3: 9 sc. Change to Orange yarn for the border. Rnd 4: Sc around. Fold flat and sew to the sides of the body.

Attach four small black buttons to the sides as wheels using sewing thread.

Wagon Handle & Rope: With Brown yarn, crochet a chain of 10 for the handle post, working 10 sl st back down. With Orange yarn, create a chain of 25 to act as the pull rope. Loop the rope through the wagon handle and sew the ends to the duck’s wings.

Tiny Egg: With Light Blue yarn, 6 sc in MR. Rnd 2: (1 sc, inc) x3 (9). Rnd 3-5: 9 sc. Rnd 6: (1 sc, dec) x3 (6). Fasten off, stuff lightly, and sew closed. Place the egg inside the red wagon.
