R8-15: 42 sc (42) [Note: Insert 8mm safety eyes between rounds 12 and 13, leaving 8 stitches of space between them]

R19: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18) – Start stuffing the head firmly with fiberfill.

Beak (Orange yarn):

R1: Ch 5, starting in 2nd ch from hook, work: 3 sc, 3 sc in last ch, turn to work on opposite side of chains: 2 sc, 1 inc (10). Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing to the face between the eyes.

Wings (Make 2 with Yellow yarn):

R1: MR, 6 sc (6)

R2: (1 sc, inc) x 3 (9)

R3-8: 9 sc (9). Do not stuff. Flatten and sew to the sides of the body.

Feet (Make 2 with Orange yarn):

R1: MR, 6 sc (6)

R2: (inc, 2 sc) x 2 (8). Fasten off, leaving a tail to sew to the bottom of the body.

Sunflower Center (Make 2 – one Brown, one Green):

R1: MR, 6 sc (6)

R2: 6 inc (12)

R3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)

R4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24). Fasten off. Place the Brown and Green circles wrong sides together.

Sunflower Petals (Golden Yellow yarn):

Join Golden Yellow yarn to any stitch going through both the Brown and Green circles to stitch them together: *ch 3, dc, ch 2 picot, dc in same stitch, ch 3, sl st in next stitch* repeat around the entire edge to form the petals.

Stem & Leaves (Green yarn):

For the stem: Ch 20, sl st back down the chain. Sew the stem to the back of the sunflower. For the leaves: Ch 6, start in 2nd ch from hook: sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc, turn to other side of chain and repeat: sc, hdc, dc, hdc, sc. Sew leaves to the stem and attach the finished flower to the duck’s wings.
