Materials

• Sport weight cotton yarn in Light Green, Orange, Brown, and Black
• Small amount of pink embroidery floss for the cheeks
• 2.25 mm crochet hook (Size B-1)

• Fiberfill stuffing

Instructions

Head & Body:

Using Light Green yarn:

• Rnd 1: 6 sc in MR (6)
• Rnd 2: 6 inc (12)
• Rnd 3: (1 sc, inc) x 6 (18)
• Rnd 4: (2 sc, inc) x 6 (24)
• Rnd 5: (3 sc, inc) x 6 (30)
• Rnd 6-10: sc in each st (30)

Insert 6 mm safety eyes between Rounds 7 and 8, leaving about 5 stitches between them. Embroider a small black ‘v’ mouth and pink horizontal lines for cheeks. Stuff the head.

Change to Orange yarn to create the pumpkin suit:

• Rnd 11: BLO (4 sc, inc) x 6 (36)
• Rnd 12-16: sc in each st (36)
• Rnd 17: (4 sc, dec) x 6 (30)
• Rnd 18: (3 sc, dec) x 6 (24)
• Rnd 19: (2 sc, dec) x 6 (18)

Fasten off, sew the bottom closed, and weave in ends.

Pumpkin Cap:

Using Orange yarn:

• Rnd 4: sl st to first st to finish. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Stem & Leaf:

Using Brown yarn for the stem: MR, 4 sc in ring. Crochet 3 rounds of 4 sc. Fasten off and sew to the center of the cap.

Using Green yarn for the leaf: Ch 4, sc in second ch from hook, hdc in next ch, sc in last ch. Fasten off and sew next to the stem.

Arms & Legs (Make 2 of each in Light Green):

For the arms: MR, 5 sc in ring. Crochet 5 rounds of 5 sc. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

For the legs: MR, 6 sc in ring. Crochet 3 rounds of 6 sc. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Assembly:

Embroider a jack-o’-lantern face on the orange body using black yarn. Sew the arms to the sides of the body where the orange and green meets. Sew the legs to the bottom of the pumpkin. Sew the finished cap to the top of the frog’s head, offset slightly for a cute look.
