Materials

• Super bulky chenille/blanket yarn in Mustard Yellow

Instructions

Step 1: The Honey Pot (Using 6.0mm hook and Mustard Yellow yarn)

Round 1: Start with 6 sc in a MR. (6 sts)

Round 12 (Door Opening): 16 sc, ch 10, skip 10 sts, 16 sc. (42 sts)

Fasten off and weave in ends. Stuff the walls lightly if you prefer double-walling, or keep it unstuffed so the bear can sit inside.

Step 2: The Pot Lid (Using 3.0mm hook and Brown yarn)

Round 1: Start with 6 sc in a MR. (6 sts)

Round 2: inc in each st around. (12 sts)

Round 3: [sc, inc] repeat 6 times. (18 sts)

Round 4: [2 sc, inc] repeat 6 times. (24 sts)

Round 5: [3 sc, inc] repeat 6 times. (30 sts)

Round 6: [4 sc, inc] repeat 6 times. (36 sts)

Rounds 8-12: sc in each st around. (42 sts)

Round 13 (Ruffle Rim): FLO [ch 3, sl st in next st] repeat around. Fasten off and leave a long tail if you wish to sew it partially to the pot, or leave it removable.

Step 3: The Door (Using 3.0mm hook and Light Beige yarn)

Round 1: 6 sc in a MR. (6 sts)

Round 2: inc in each st around. (12 sts)

Round 3: [sc, inc] repeat 6 times. (18 sts)

Round 4: [2 sc, inc] repeat 6 times. (24 sts)

Round 5: [3 sc, inc] repeat 6 times. (30 sts)

Fasten off. Sew one side of the circular door to the side of the door opening on the honey pot to act as a hinge. Add a small wooden button on the opposite side to keep it closed.

Step 4: The Little Bear (Using 3.0mm hook and Medium Brown yarn)

Head:

Round 1: 6 sc in a MR. (6 sts)

Round 2: inc in each st around. (12 sts)

Round 3: [sc, inc] repeat around. (18 sts)

Round 4: [2 sc, inc] repeat around. (24 sts)

Rounds 5-9: sc in each st around. (24 sts)

Insert safety eyes between rounds 7 and 8, about 4 sts apart. Stuff the head.

Round 10: [2 sc, dec] repeat around. (18 sts)

Round 11: [sc, dec] repeat around. (12 sts)

Round 12: dec around. Fasten off and close the hole.

Snout: Using Light Beige yarn, make 6 sc in a MR, sl st to join. Sew to the head below the eyes and embroider a tiny nose and mouth with brown yarn.

Ears (Make 2): 6 sc in a MR, do not join. Sew to the top of the head.

Body: Repeat head instructions up to Round 4 (24 sts). Work even for 4 rounds, then decrease gradually to 12 sts. Stuff and sew to the head.

Arms and Legs: Crochet small tubes (6 sc in MR, work 6 rounds) and sew them to the body.

Step 5: Assembly and Details

Embroider the words ‘HONEY HOME’ on the front of the pot using brown yarn. Crochet small bees (yellow and black striped ovals with tiny white chain-loop wings) and sew them to the exterior of the pot.
