Materials

• Fingering or lace weight cotton yarn in Cream, Navy Blue, Medium Blue, and White
• 1.5 mm crochet hook (or size suitable to keep stitches tight)
• Small piece of plastic canvas or stiff cardboard (approx. 1.5 inches x 2 inches)
• Polyester fiberfill stuffing
• Metal keychain ring with link chain
• Yarn needle and embroidery scissors

Abbreviations

• ch – chain
• sc – single crochet
• hdc – half double crochet
• inc – increase (2 sc in next stitch)
• dec – decrease (sc 2 stitches together)
• sl st – slip stitch
• BLO – back loops only
• st(s) – stitch(es)

Instructions

Bed Mattress & Base (Cream Yarn)

We will crochet a rectangular block. Start by making a chain.

Row 1: Ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (10 sts)

Rows 2-18: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (10 sts)

Rnd 19 (3D Mattress sides): Do not turn at the end of Row 18. Work sc evenly around the entire perimeter of the rectangle, working in BLO to create a sharp edge. Join with sl st to first sc.

Rnds 20-22: Ch 1, sc in each st around. (Work in both loops).

Insert a cut-to-size piece of plastic canvas or cardboard inside the base to keep it flat, add a tiny bit of fiberfill stuffing, then crochet or sew a matching 10×18 flat rectangle to the bottom loops to seal the mattress completely.

Headboard (Cream Yarn)

Row 1: Ch 13, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (12 sts)

Rows 2-10: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (12 sts)

Row 11: Ch 1, hdc in first 2 sts, sc in next 8 sts, hdc in last 2 sts. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the headboard securely to one of the short ends of the mattress base.

Bed Legs (Cream Yarn – Make 4)

Attach Cream yarn to the four bottom corners of the bed mattress base.

Rnd 1: Pick up 4 sc around the corner space, join to form a tiny tube.

Rnds 2-3: Sc in each of the 4 sts. Fasten off and weave in ends tightly to make the legs stiff.

Navy Pillow (Navy Blue Yarn)

Row 1: Ch 9, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (8 sts)

Rows 2-5: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (8 sts)

Fold the piece in half, stuff lightly with a pinch of fiberfill, and slip stitch the edges closed to form a small pillow. Sew onto the headboard.

White Accent Pillows (Cream/White Yarn – Make 2)

Row 1: Ch 6, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (5 sts)

Rows 2-4: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. (5 sts)

Fold in half, pinch together, and sew the edges closed. Use a tiny thread of Navy Blue yarn to embroider a French knot or a small cross in the center of each pillow. Sew them in front of the Navy pillow.

Striped Blanket (Medium Blue & White Yarn)

Row 1: In Medium Blue, ch 13, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (12 sts)

Row 2: Change to White. Ch 1, sc across, turn.

Row 3: Change to Medium Blue. Ch 1, sc across, turn.

Row 4-12: Continue alternating White and Medium Blue rows. For a textured effect, you can alternate sc and ch-1 spaces to create the checkered/mosaic floral pattern shown. Fasten off and weave in all yarn tails.

Assembly & Finishing

Drape the striped blanket over the bottom half of the mattress, sewing it down along the sides to secure it beautifully. Attach your metal keychain ring firmly through the top-left corner of the cream headboard. Your beautiful miniature bed keychain is now complete and ready to travel with you!
