Crochet Pattern: Christmas Patrick Star Amigurumi

Materials

Body & Head (Start with Pink yarn)

Round 1: MR, 6 sc in MR [6]

Shorts (Start with Lime Green yarn)

Work these as a separate piece and sew onto the bottom of the body, covering Rounds 8-12 of the Body. The purple patches are added via color changes or embroidered on.

Round 1: Ch 30, sl st to first ch to form a ring [30]

Round 2-3: sc in each st around [30]

Round 4: In this round, incorporate purple patches. For example, *sc 5 in green, (sc in purple for 3 st), sc 7 in green, (sc in purple for 3 st), sc 12 in green*. The placement and size of purple patches can be varied for a unique look. [30]

Round 5: sc in each st around in Lime Green. [30]

FO, leave a long tail for sewing. Sew the shorts onto the body firmly around the designated rounds, ensuring it sits evenly.

Arms (Make 2, with Pink yarn)

Round 1: MR, 6 sc in MR [6]

Round 2: (sc, inc)*3 [9]

Round 3-8: sc in each st around (6 rounds) [9]

Stuff lightly. Flatten opening.

Round 9: 4 sc through both layers to close [4]

FO, leave a long tail for sewing. Sew arms to the sides of the body, approximately between Body Rounds 16-18.

Legs (Make 2, with Pink yarn)

Round 1: MR, 6 sc in MR [6]

Round 2: (inc)*6 [12]

Round 3-4: sc in each st around (2 rounds) [12]

Stuff lightly.

Round 5: (dec)*6 [6]

FO, leave a long tail. Weave through remaining 6 stitches and pull tight to close. Hide tail. Sew legs to the bottom of the body, slightly forward, evenly spaced.

Eyes (Make 2)

White Part (White yarn):

Round 1: MR, 6 sc in MR [6]

Round 2: (inc)*6 [12]

Round 3: (sc, inc)*6 [18]

FO, leave a long tail for sewing.

Black Pupil (Black yarn):

Round 1: MR, 6 sc in MR [6]

FO, leave a long tail. Sew Black Pupil onto the center of the White Part. Sew assembled eyes to the head, between Body Rounds 20-22, about 3-4 stitches apart.

Mouth

Dark Brown Mouth Shape (Dark Brown yarn):

Row 1: Ch 5. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 3 sc in last ch. Working down other side of chain: sc in next 3 ch. [9]

Round 2: (inc, 3 sc, inc, 3 sc, inc) [12]

FO, leave a long tail for sewing. Sew this shape below the eyes, centered.

White Teeth (Make 2, White yarn):

Row 1: Ch 3. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch. [2]

Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. [2]

FO, leave tail. Sew teeth onto the top edge of the brown mouth shape, centered and close together.

Orange Inner Mouth/Tongue (Orange yarn):

Using orange yarn and a yarn needle, embroider a thin curved line inside the brown mouth shape, just below the teeth, to represent the inner mouth or tongue.

Eyebrows (Black yarn)

Using black yarn and a yarn needle, embroider two small, curved eyebrow lines above each eye, angled slightly inwards.

Santa Hat

Hat (Red yarn):

Round 1: MR, 6 sc in MR [6]

Round 2: (sc, inc)*3 [9]

Round 3: sc in each st around [9]

Round 4: (2 sc, inc)*3 [12]

Round 5: sc in each st around [12]

Round 6: (3 sc, inc)*3 [15]

FO, weave in ends. Sew hat onto the top of Patrick’s head, slightly tilted, allowing the point to flop to one side as seen in the image.

Pompom (White yarn):

Round 1: MR, 6 sc in MR [6]

Stuff firmly. FO, weave tail through remaining 6 stitches and pull tight to close. Sew pompom to the tip of the hat.

Assembly

• Stuff the Body/Head firmly as you crochet.
• Sew the Shorts onto the lower part of the body.
• Attach the Arms to the sides of the body, around Body Rounds 16-18.
• Attach the Legs to the bottom of the body, slightly forward and evenly spaced.
• Assemble and sew the Eyes to the head, around Body Rounds 20-22.
• Assemble and sew the Mouth components (brown shape, white teeth, orange lining) below the eyes.
• Embroider the Eyebrows above the eyes.
• Assemble the Santa Hat (hat, trim, pompom) and sew it onto Patrick’s head.
• Weave in all remaining loose ends securely.
