Materials

• DK (Light Worsted) weight yarn in:

Shoulder Armor (Dark Grey/Blue-Grey – G, make 2):

Row 1: Ch 5. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and next 3 chs [4]

Row 2: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across [4]

FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. (These are small rectangular pieces)

Assembly and Detailing:

1. Attach Head to Body: Sew the head to the body firmly, aligning the neck opening (Round 18 of body to Round 19 of head).

2. Attach Ears: Sew the dark brown ears to the top sides of the head, flattening them slightly. Position them around Rounds 4-6 of the head, centered above the eyes.

3. Attach Arms: Sew the arms to the sides of the body, just below the neck seam, at the top of the dark red chest plate section.

4. Attach Legs: Sew the legs to the bottom of the dark blue pants section of the body, evenly spaced.

5. Attach Tail: Sew the tail to the back of the body, centered, at the junction of the dark blue and dark red sections (around Round 10-11 of the body).

6. Face Details:

• Using Dark Brown (B) yarn and a tapestry needle, embroider the raccoon “mask” around the safety eyes and extending slightly outwards to the sides of the head. Refer to the image for shaping.
• Using White (C) yarn, embroider the muzzle below the eyes, centered, just above where the nose will be.
• Using Black yarn, embroider a small triangular nose on the white muzzle.
• Cut several strands of thin white thread or fishing line for whiskers and knot them securely into the sides of the muzzle, trimming to desired length.
• Using White (C) yarn, embroider a few small vertical stripes on top of the head for detail, between the ears.

7. Outfit Details:

• Sew the two Dark Grey (G) shoulder armor pieces to the top of the dark red chest section, over the shoulders.
• Using Medium Brown (F) yarn and a tapestry needle, surface crochet thin vertical straps from the shoulder armor down the front of the dark red chest, and horizontally for a belt around the waist (at the junction of dark red and dark blue). Refer to the image for placement and thickness.
• Using Silver/Light Grey yarn, embroider small buckle shapes and lines onto the brown straps and belt for armored details, as seen in the original image.
