Materials

• Sport weight yarn in Yellow, Black, Brown, White, and a scrap of Pink
• 2.0 mm crochet hook
• Two 4mm safety eyes
• Black embroidery thread
• Two small black beads (for antennae tips)
• Keychain ring and chain
• Fiberfill stuffing
• Yarn needle and scissors

Body (Work in continuous rounds):

• Rnd 1: With Yellow yarn, 6 sc in MR (6)
• Rnd 2: [inc] x6 (12)
• Rnd 3: [sc, inc] x6 (18)
• Rnd 4: [2 sc, inc] x6 (24)
• Rnd 5: [3 sc, inc] x6 (30)
• Rnd 6: sc around (30)
• Change to Black yarn.
• Rnd 7-8: sc around (30)
• Change to Yellow yarn.
• Rnd 9-10: sc around (30)
• Change to Black yarn.
• Rnd 11-12: sc around (30)
• Change to Yellow yarn.
• Rnd 13: [3 sc, dec] x6 (24)
• Note: Insert safety eyes between Rnds 4 and 5, about 5 stitches apart. Embroider a small smile with black embroidery thread between the eyes, and stitch tiny pink cheek lines directly under the eyes.

Antennae (Make 2):

• Join Yellow yarn to the top of the head (around Rnd 3).
• Ch 4, fasten off leaving a short tail. Sew a small black bead to the tip of each chain to create the antenna knobs.

Wings (Make 2):

• With White yarn, 6 sc in MR.
• Rnd 2: [inc] x6 (12)
• Rnd 3: [sc, inc] x6 (18)
• Fold the circle in half to form a semi-circle and sew them flat onto the back of the bee, placing them over the first black stripe.

Honey Pot:

• With Brown yarn, 6 sc in MR.
• Rnd 2: [inc] x6 (12)
• Rnd 3: [sc, inc] x6 (18)
• Rnd 4-7: sc around (18)
• Rnd 8: [sc, dec] x6 (12) – Stuff lightly.
• Rnd 9: [dec] x6 (6)
• Fasten off and sew closed. Embroider a small white felt patch or crochet rectangle to the front, adding the word ‘HONEY’ with black thread. Add a few messy stitches of yellow yarn near the top rim to look like dripping honey.

Arms (Make 2) & Assembly:

• With Black yarn, join to the side of the body on the first yellow stripe, ch 5, and attach to the side of the honey pot. Repeat on the other side so the bee is holding the pot securely.
• Finally, attach your keychain ring securely to the top center of the head, between the antennae.
