Materials

• Fingering weight (2 ply) cotton yarn in Beige/Cream (skin), Blonde/Yellow (hair), and Variegated Pastel Pink/Mint (dress)
• Scraps of pink, yellow, and green embroidery floss for the flowers and leaves
• 1.5 mm crochet hook (US Size 8 steel hook)
• Two 4mm black safety eyes
• Polyester fiberfill stuffing
• Pre-made mini sheer organza fairy wings (approx. 4cm wide)
• Keychain ring with chain and a metal jump ring
• Pink blush or pastel chalk
• Yarn needle, embroidery needle, and scissors

Instructions

Head:

Using Beige/Cream yarn.

• R2: 6 inc (12)
• R3: (1 sc, inc) x6 (18)
• R4: (2 sc, inc) x6 (24)
• R5-10: sc around (24)
• Note: Insert safety eyes between rounds 8 and 9, leaving about 4 stitches of space between them.
• R11: (2 sc, dec) x6 (18)
• Start stuffing the head firmly with fiberfill.
• R12: (1 sc, dec) x6 (12)
• R13: 6 dec (6)
• Fasten off, weaving in the yarn tail.

Hair Cap & Buns:

Using Blonde/Yellow yarn.

• R1: MR 6 sc (6)
• R2: 6 inc (12)
• R3: (1 sc, inc) x6 (18)
• R4: (2 sc, inc) x6 (24)
• R5-9: sc around (24)
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Place the hair cap onto the head, angling it slightly back. Sew securely.
• Buns (Make 2):
• R1: MR 6 sc (6)
• R2: 6 inc (12)
• R3-4: sc around (12)
• Stuff lightly. Sew the two buns to the top left and right sides of the hair cap to create space buns.
• Using a needle and blonde yarn, embroider straight lines from the crown of the head down to the edges to mimic hair strands.

Legs & Body:

Start with Variegated Pastel yarn (for shoes/socks).

• R1: MR 5 sc (5)
• R2: sc around (5)
• Change to Beige/Cream yarn.
• R3-6: sc around (5)
• Fasten off for the first leg. Repeat for the second leg, but do not cut the yarn.
• Joining the Legs: ch 2, sc into the first leg. Crochet 5 sc around first leg, 2 sc in the ch-2, 5 sc around second leg, and 2 sc on the opposite side of the ch-2 (14)
• R7-8: sc around (14)
• Change to Variegated Pastel yarn (for the dress bodice).
• R9: BLO sc around (14)

• Change to Beige/Cream yarn.

• Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew the body to the head. Stuff the body firmly.

Dress Skirt:

With the doll upside down, attach Variegated Pastel yarn to the remaining FLO loops of R9.

• R1: ch 2, (hdc inc) in each loop around, join with a sl st (28)
• R2: ch 2, (1 dc, dc inc) around, join with a sl st (42)
• R3: ch 1, (sc, skip 1 st, 3 dc in next st, skip 1 st) repeat around to make a scalloped edge. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Arms (Make 2):

Using Beige/Cream yarn.

• R1: MR 4 sc (4)
• R2-7: sc around (4)
• Fasten off, leaving a tail. Sew the arms to the sides of the body right below the neck (R14).

Assembly & Details:

• Sew the head securely onto the body neck post.
• Using embroidery floss, embroider small flowers (lazy daisy or French knots) and green leaves around the base of the hair buns.
• Apply a small amount of pink cosmetic blush or pastel chalk to the cheeks using a cotton swab.
• Glue or sew the sheer organza fairy wings onto the back of the dress.
• Attach a jump ring and keychain to the very top center of the doll’s hair. Your miniature fairy is ready to travel!
