Crochet Pattern: Adorable Miniature Crochet Armchair Keychain Pattern

Materials

• Lace weight (Category 1) or fingering weight yarn in Slate Blue, Olive Green, Cream, and Mustard Yellow
• 1.75 mm or 2.0 mm crochet hook
• Polyester fiberfill stuffing
• Keychain ring with chain and lobster clasp
• 4 small wooden beads (for feet)
• Yarn needle, scissors, and sewing thread/glue for attaching beads
• Small round wooden ‘Handmade’ tag (optional)

Instructions

Note: Work in tight, neat stitches to ensure the stuffing does not show through. Use a thin cardboard or plastic insert for the bottom of the base if you want a flat finish.

Seat Cushion Motif:

Using Cream yarn, start with a MR.
Round 1: Ch 1, 8 sc in ring, join with sl st to first sc. (8 sts)
Switch to Mustard Yellow.
Round 2: Ch 2 (counts as 1 dc), 1 dc in same st, ch 1. [2 dc in next st, ch 1] repeat around. Join with sl st. (16 dc)
Switch to Olive Green.
Round 3: Join in any ch-1 space. Ch 1, [3 sc in ch-1 space, ch 1, skip 2 dc] repeat around. (24 sts)
Switch to Slate Blue.
Round 4: Working into the sc stitches to form a square: Ch 1, *3 sc, [1 hdc, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, 1 hdc] in next st to form corner; repeat from * around. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Backrest (Worked Sideways for Vertical Stripes):

Using Slate Blue yarn, ch 16.
Rows 1-2 (Blue): Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, turn. (15 sts)
Rows 3-4 (Cream): Ch 1, sc across, turn. (15 sts)
Rows 5-6 (Green): Ch 1, sc across, turn. (15 sts)
Rows 7-8 (Yellow): Ch 1, sc across, turn. (15 sts)
Repeat this stripe sequence (Blue, Cream, Green, Yellow) one more time, then finish with 2 rows of Blue. Fold in half, lightly stuff with fiberfill, and whipstitch the edges closed to create a firm, flat back cushion.

Armrests (Make 2):

Using Slate Blue yarn, start with a MR.
Round 1: 6 sc in ring. (6 sts)
Round 2: [sc, inc] around. (9 sts)
Switch to Cream and Olive Green stripes.
Rounds 3-10: Sc around, alternating colors every 2 rounds.
Switch to Slate Blue.
Round 11: [sc, dec] around. (6 sts)
Stuff firmly and sew the ends closed.

Chair Base & Bottom:

Using Olive Green, ch 11.
Rows 1-10: Sc in each ch across, turning at the end of each row to form a square base. (10 sts)
Change colors to work the outer skirt of the chair base in rounds:
Rounds 1-4: Alternate rounds of Yellow, Cream, Green, and Blue, working 1 sc in each stitch around the perimeter of the square base to form a 3D box shape. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for assembly.

Assembly:

1. Place a piece of plastic or cardboard inside the bottom of the chair base to keep it flat.
2. Lightly stuff the base and sew the Seat Cushion Motif onto the top opening of the base.
3. Sew the striped Backrest to the rear edge of the seat cushion.
4. Sew the two Armrests to the sides of the seat cushion, joining them to the backrest.
5. Using a small loop of Blue yarn at the top center of the backrest, attach the keychain hardware.
6. Glue or sew the 4 small wooden beads to the bottom corners of the chair base to serve as legs.
