Bag Panels (Make 2):

• Using Color A (Cream/Off-White), Ch 46.
• Row 1 (WS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (45 sc)

• Main Bag Body (Diamond Colorwork)

  For the following rows, you will work single crochet (sc) while carrying the unused colors loosely along the top of the stitches, changing colors as indicated. Each pattern block is 15 stitches wide. You will repeat this 15-stitch block 3 times across each row.

• Fasten off, leaving a long tail on one panel for seaming.

Joining Panels:

• Place the two panels together, wrong sides facing (or right sides facing if you prefer an external seam detail).
• Using Color A and a yarn needle or crochet hook, whip stitch or single crochet the side and bottom edges together, leaving the top edge open.
• Turn bag right side out.

Creating the Strap:

• Cut 6 strands of yarn, each approximately 60 inches long (2 in Color A, 2 in Color B, 2 in Color C).
• Hold three strands together (one of each color) and tie a knot at one end, leaving a small tail.
• Repeat for the other three strands. You now have two sets of three strands.
• Braid these two thick strands together tightly until you reach the desired strap length (approx. 40-45 inches for a shoulder bag).
• Tie a knot at the end to secure the braid.
• Attach each end of the braided strap securely to the top corners of the bag using a yarn needle, weaving it through several stitches for strength.

Adding the Fringe:

• Cut multiple strands of yarn (approx. 100-150 pieces) in Colors A, B, and C, each 10-12 inches long.
• Starting along the bottom edge of the bag, insert your crochet hook into a stitch.
• Fold 2-3 strands of yarn in half, loop them onto your hook, and pull through the stitch, creating a loop.
• Pull the tails of the yarn through the loop and tighten to form a knot.
• Continue adding fringe evenly across the bottom and sides of the bag, varying the colors as seen in the image (a mix of A, B, C).
• Trim fringe to an even length if desired.
