Materials

• DK weight yarn in Sky Blue (Main Color – MC, approx. 300-400g)

Instructions

Gauge: 18 sts x 10 rows in dc = 4″ (10 cm) square.

Step 1: Central Sun Motif (Make 1)

Using CC1 (Mustard Gold), make a magic ring.

• Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 11 dc into ring. Join with sl st to top of ch-3. (12 dc)
• Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, 2 dc in each st around. Join with sl st. (24 dc)
• Round 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in next st, *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join with sl st. (36 dc)
• Round 4: Ch 1, sc in same st, *ch 8 (to make a ray), sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next 2 chs, dc in next 2 chs, tr in last ch, skip next 2 sts on Round 3 circle, sc in next st; repeat from * around to create 12 sun rays. Fasten off CC1.
• Round 5 (White Border): Join CC2 (White) to the tip of any sun ray. *Ch 5, sc in the space between the bases of the rays, ch 5, sc in the tip of the next ray; repeat from * around. Join with sl st.

Step 2: Squaring the Sun Circle (Front Panel)
