Materials

• Sport weight cotton yarn in Cream (walls), Olive Green (roof), Dark Brown (door/window), and Grey (chimney)
• Small amounts of embroidery floss or thin yarn in pink, yellow, blue, and light green
• 2.0 mm crochet hook
• Fiberfill stuffing
• Small yellow seed bead (for doorknob)
• Keychain ring with chain link
• Tapestry needle and scissors

Instructions

Walls (Cream Yarn)

Round 1: Start with a MR, work 6 sc into the ring. (6 sts)

Round 2: [inc] repeat 6 times. (12 sts)

Round 3: [sc, inc] repeat 6 times. (18 sts)

Round 4: [2 sc, inc] repeat 6 times. (24 sts)

Round 5: [3 sc, inc] repeat 6 times. (30 sts)

Round 6: In BLO, sc in each st around. (30 sts)

Rounds 7-14: sc in each st around. (30 sts)

Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Roof (Olive Green Yarn)

Round 1: Start with a MR, work 4 sc into the ring. (4 sts)

Round 2: [sc, inc] repeat 2 times. (6 sts)

Round 3: [2 sc, inc] repeat 2 times. (8 sts)

Round 4: [sc, inc] repeat 4 times. (12 sts)

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew the yellow seed bead onto the side of the door as a doorknob.

Window (Cream & Dark Brown Yarn)

Using Cream yarn: MR, work 6 sc into the ring, sl st to join. Fasten off.

Using Dark Brown yarn: Sl st around the outer edge of the window, and embroider windowpane cross-bars over the center circle.

Chimney (Grey Yarn)

Round 1: MR, work 5 sc into the ring. (5 sts)

Rounds 2-4: sc in each st around. (5 sts)

Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing. Lightly stuff.

Assembly & Embroidery

1. Sew the dark brown door to the front center of the cream walls.

2. Sew the circular window adjacent to the door.

3. Embroider small floral/grassy patterns along the bottom base of the walls using pink, blue, yellow, and green embroidery thread.

4. Sew the chimney securely onto the side of the green roof.

5. Embroider colorful french knots (flowers) and lazy daisy stitches (leaves) onto the green roof.

6. Stuff the cottage walls firmly with fiberfill. Sew the roof (using the inner loops from Round 11 of the roof) to the wall’s open top opening.

7. Attach your keychain ring securely through the very top point of the green roof.
