Crochet Pattern: Charming Crochet Sewing Machine Keychain – Free Amigurumi Pattern

Materials

• Lace weight yarn (Size 10 crochet thread) or embroidery floss in Teal, Cream, Light Grey, Pink, and Gold
• 1.0 mm crochet hook
• Polyester fiberfill stuffing
• Keychain ring and short metal chain
• Tiny white button (approx. 4mm), mini “Sew Happy” fabric label or paper insert
• Sewing needle, sewing pins, and fabric glue

Abbreviations

• MR: Magic Ring
• ch: chain
• sc: single crochet
• inc: increase (2 sc in one stitch)
• dec: decrease (sc 2 together)
• sl st: slip stitch
• BLO: back loops only

Instructions

Base (Start in Light Grey):

• Ch 15. Starting in the second ch from hook, work 13 sc, 3 sc in last chain. Turn to work along the opposite side of the chain: 12 sc, inc in the last ch. (30 sts)
• Rnd 2: inc, 12 sc, [inc] x 3, 12 sc, [inc] x 2. (36 sts)
• Rnd 3: Change to Pink. Working in BLO, sc around. (36 sts)
• Rnd 4: Change to Cream. Sc around. (36 sts)
• Rnd 5: Working in BLO, [dec, 16 sc] twice. (34 sts)
• Rnd 6: Sc around. Stuff base flatly. Close bottom opening by crocheting opposite sides together with sl st, or sew a flat bottom insert to keep it rigid. Set base aside.

Main Teal Body (L-Shape Arm):

• Rnd 1: In Teal, start with MR, 6 sc. (6 sts)
• Rnd 2: [inc] x 6. (12 sts)
• Rds 3-8: Sc around. (12 sts) – This forms the vertical pillar.
• Rnd 9: Ch 8 (to start the horizontal top arm). Turn and work back along the chain: 7 sc, then continue working 12 sc around the top of the pillar. (19 sts)
• Rds 10-14: Work in rounds around the entire L-shape to build the thickness of the horizontal arm (approx. 22 sts around). Stuff firmly as you go.
• Rnd 15: Dec around to close the front needle end of the arm. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Faceplate (Cream):

• Ch 5. Starting in second ch, 3 sc, 3 sc in last ch, turn: 2 sc, inc. (10 sts)
• Sew this flat oval piece onto the front needle end of the Teal body.

Handwheel & Accents (Light Grey & Pink):

• Handwheel: In Grey, MR, 6 sc. Join with sl st and sew to the right side of the Teal body.
• Mini Dial: In Pink, MR, 5 sc. Sew to the front of the teal body near the faceplate.
• Thread Spool: Wrap Gold yarn around a tiny piece of rolled cardboard or wooden toothpick. Glue to the top of the Teal body.

Assembly & Finishing:

• Sew the Teal main body securely onto the top of the Cream/Pink base.
• Attach a tiny pin or silver wire to represent the needle under the faceplate.
• Glue the mini “Sew Happy” label onto the front-right side of the teal body, and add a tiny decorative button just above it.
• Thread a strand of gold yarn from the spool to the needle area to simulate sewing thread.
• Securely sew the keychain jump ring to the top center of the machine’s teal body. Your miniature sewing machine keychain is ready!
