Crochet Pattern: Santa Tom Amigurumi

Materials

• Worsted weight (DK or light worsted) yarn in: Grey, Red, White, Black, Gold, Light Pink (or pink felt)
• 2.5mm or 3.0mm crochet hook (or size suitable for your yarn to achieve tight stitches)
• 10-12mm green safety eyes with black pupils

Santa Jacket (Red, White, Black, Gold Yarn/Felt):

Using Red Yarn (this piece is worked flat):

Row 1: Ch 21, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across [20]

Row 2-R10: Ch 1, turn, sc across [20]

Sl st, fasten off. This forms the main body of the jacket. Wrap it around the grey body, aligning the top edge with the neck and leaving the front open. Sew the short sides together at the back to secure. You can slightly cinch the top edge to fit snugly around the neck.

White Trim: With White yarn, sl st or sc along the front opening edges and around the bottom edge of the red jacket. For the collar, ch about 15-20, sc across, then sew this strip around the back of the neck opening.

Black Belt: With Black yarn, ch enough to wrap around the jacket (approx. 25-30 ch), sc across. Fasten off and sew this strip around the waist of the jacket. For the buckle, embroider a small square with Gold yarn or cut a small gold felt square and attach it to the belt.

Santa Hat (Red and White Yarn):

Sl st, fasten off, weave in ends. Sew hat to the top of the head at an angle.

Pom-Pom (White Yarn): Make a small pom-pom using white yarn and sew it securely to the tip of the hat.

Candy Cane (Red and White Yarn):

Using Red Yarn, ch 25-30. Fasten off.

Using White Yarn, ch 25-30. Fasten off.

Twist the two chains tightly together, then gently shape into a cane. Secure ends by knotting or sewing. (Optional: Insert a pipe cleaner before twisting for better shape retention). Sew to one of the finished hands.

Assembly:

1. Sew the head to the body. Ensure it’s secure and upright.

2. Sew the snout to the head, then embroider the nose and “Y” shaped mouth. Add black whiskers on either side of the snout with embroidery floss.

3. Attach the ears to the top sides of the head, pinching the base flat to make them stand up.

4. Sew the arms to the sides of the body, just below the neck. The white cuffs should face forward.

5. Sew the feet to the bottom of the body. Embroider toe lines with black embroidery floss.

6. Drape and sew the Santa jacket onto the body. Attach the belt and buckle. Add the white trim and collar.

7. Sew the Santa hat to the head and attach the pom-pom to the tip.

8. Attach the candy cane to one of the hands.

9. Use black embroidery floss to add thin eyebrows above the eyes if desired, arching slightly.
