Materials

• Worsted weight yarn in Blue-Grey (main body)
• Worsted weight yarn in Cream (belly)
• Worsted weight yarn in Black (eyes, nose, whiskers)
• Worsted weight yarn in White (eyes)
• 4.0mm (G) crochet hook
• Polyester fiberfill stuffing
• Tapestry needle

Instructions

Gauge: 4 sc x 4 rows = 1 inch (approximately, exact gauge not critical for this project)

Pillow Panels (Make 2 in Blue-Grey)

• Panel 1 & 2: Ch 57.
• Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (56 sc)

• FO, leaving a long tail on one panel for assembly.

Eyes (Make 2 White, 2 Black)

White Eye Base (Make 2 in White):

• Round 1: 6 sc in MR. (6 sc)
• Round 2: Inc in each stitch around. (12 sc)
• Sl st to first sc. FO, leaving a tail for sewing.

Black Pupil (Make 2 in Black):

• Round 1: 6 sc in MR. (6 sc)
• Sl st to first sc. FO, leaving a tail for sewing.

Assembly

1. Attach Belly: Place the Cream belly circle onto the center of one Blue-Grey pillow panel. Pin in place and sew around the edge using the long tail and your tapestry needle.
2. Attach Eyes: Sew the Black pupils onto the White eye bases. Then, position the completed eyes above the belly on the Blue-Grey front panel. Sew securely.
3. Embroider Features: Using Black yarn and a tapestry needle, embroider two small horizontal lines for the nose directly below and between the eyes. For the whiskers, embroider three short horizontal lines on each side of the face.
4. Attach Ears and Arms: Position the ears at the top corners of the front panel and the arms on the sides, slightly below the center. Sew securely.
5. Belly Markings: Using Blue-Grey yarn, embroider or surface slip stitch the ‘V’ shaped markings onto the Cream belly in a semi-circular pattern, as shown in the reference image.
6. Join Panels: Place the completed front panel and the plain back panel together, wrong sides facing. Using the long tail from one panel (or a new piece of Blue-Grey yarn), single crochet around three sides, going through both loops of both panels. Insert fiberfill stuffing before completely closing the fourth side. Continue to sc the remaining side closed. Sl st to join. FO and weave in all ends.
