Instructions

Mandala Panels (Make 2 identical)

Start with Color A (Olive Green)

• Round 1: Make a MR, ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc), 11 hdc in ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 2. (12 hdc)

• Round 2: Ch 2, hdc in same st, 2 hdc in each hdc around. Join with sl st to top of ch 2. (24 hdc). FO Color A.

Join Color B (Mustard Yellow)

• Round 3: Join Color B in any st. Ch 1, sc in same st. *Ch 3, skip 2 sts, sc in next st*. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc, 8 ch-3 sps). FO Color B.

Join Color C (Dark Teal/Blue)

• Round 4: Join Color C in any ch-3 sp. Ch 2, 2 hdc in same ch-3 sp. *3 hdc in next ch-3 sp*. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 2. (24 hdc). FO Color C.

Join Color D (Burnt Orange/Rust)

Join Color E (Cream/Beige) and Color C (Dark Teal/Blue) for Star Petals

• Round 6 (Color E): Join Color E in any st. Ch 1, sc in same st. *Ch 3, skip 3 sts, sc in next st*. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc, 8 ch-3 sps). FO Color E.

Join Color D (Burnt Orange/Rust)

Join Color B (Mustard Yellow) for Outer Petals

• Round 9: Join Color B in any st. Ch 1, sc in first st. *Ch 4, skip 4 sts, sc in next st*. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (10 sc, 10 ch-4 sps). FO Color B.

Join Color C (Dark Teal/Blue)

• Round 10: Join Color C in any ch-4 sp. Ch 2, 3 hdc in same ch-4 sp. *4 hdc in next ch-4 sp*. Repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 2. (40 hdc). FO Color C.

Join Color D (Burnt Orange/Rust)

• Round 11: Join Color D. Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st to first sc. (40 sc). FO, leaving a long tail (approx. 30 inches) on one panel for sewing.

Bag Assembly

• Take the two completed Mandala Panels. Place them wrong sides together, aligning the stitches perfectly.

• Using the long tail from one panel (or a new length of Color D), sc the edges of the two panels together for approximately three-quarters of the circumference, starting and ending at the desired points for the bag opening. Ensure your sc stitches go through both loops of both panels to create a sturdy seam.

• Once joined, with Color D, sc evenly around the top opening of the bag (including the joined sections and the unjoined sections) to create a neat edge. Join with sl st and FO.

Strap

• Crocheted Strap (Color D – Burnt Orange): Ch 150 (or to your desired length). Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. Sc in each sc across. Repeat for 2 more rows to create a sturdy strap. FO, leaving long tails for attaching.

• Attach the ends of the strap securely to the top edges of the bag opening, about 1-2 inches in from the side seams, using a tapestry needle and by stitching them firmly through the crocheted fabric for durability. Weave in all remaining ends securely.
