Materials

• Worsted weight yarn in light pink (for body and arms)
• Worsted weight yarn in dark pink/red (for feet)
• Black embroidery floss (for eyes and mouth)

• 3.0mm crochet hook (or size appropriate for your yarn)

Welcome to creating your very own Kirby! Work in continuous rounds unless otherwise stated. Use a stitch marker to keep track of the beginning of each round.

Body (Light Pink Yarn)

• R1: Start with a MR, sc 6 into the ring. (6 sts)
• R2: Inc in each st around. (12 sts)
• R3: (Sc 1, inc) x6. (18 sts)
• R4: (Sc 2, inc) x6. (24 sts)
• R5: (Sc 3, inc) x6. (30 sts)
• R6: (Sc 4, inc) x6. (36 sts)
• R7: (Sc 5, inc) x6. (42 sts)
• R8-R15: Sc in each st around. (42 sts) (8 rounds)
• R16: (Sc 5, dec) x6. (36 sts)
• R17: (Sc 4, dec) x6. (30 sts)
• R18: (Sc 3, dec) x6. (24 sts)
• Start stuffing firmly, shaping as you go.
• R19: (Sc 2, dec) x6. (18 sts)
• R20: (Sc 1, dec) x6. (12 sts)

• FO, leave a long tail. Thread the tail through the front loop of the remaining 6 stitches and pull tight to close. Weave in the end.

Feet (Dark Pink/Red Yarn, Make 2)

• Ch 4.
• R1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, 3 sc in last ch. Continue on the other side of the starting chain: sc in next ch, 2 sc in the last ch. (8 sts)
• R2: Inc, sc 1, inc x3, sc 1, inc x2. (14 sts)
• R3-R4: Sc in each st around. (14 sts)
• Lightly stuff the foot. Pinch the opening flat and sc across the 7 stitches to close. (7 sts)
• FO, leave a long tail for sewing.

Arms (Light Pink Yarn, Make 2)

• R1: Start with a MR, sc 6 into the ring. (6 sts)
• R2: Sc in each st around. (6 sts)
• FO, leave a long tail for sewing. Do not stuff.

Assembly and Face Embroidery

• Attach Feet: Position the feet on the bottom of the body, slightly forward. Sew them firmly in place using the tails left on the feet.
• Attach Arms: Position the arms on the sides of the body, just below the widest part. Sew them securely in place.
• Embroider Face:
  • Using black embroidery floss, embroider two oval shapes for the eyes, approximately 3-4 rounds apart and centered on the body.
  • Fill in the top half of the eyes with blue embroidery floss.
  • Add a small white highlight stitch to the top right of each eye.
  • Embroider a simple black smile curve below the eyes.
  • Using light pink yarn or floss, embroider small horizontal stitches for the blush cheeks just below and to the side of each eye.
