Materials

• Sport weight yarn in Yellow
• Sport weight yarn in Green
• Sport weight yarn in White
• Small amount of Sport weight yarn in Blue
• 2.0mm crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• Small amount of fiberfill stuffing
• Keychain ring (approximately 1 inch diameter)

Instructions

Sole (White Yarn)

• R1: Ch 10. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 7 ch, 3 sc in last ch. Working on the other side of the foundation chain: sc in next 7 ch, 2 sc in last ch. (20 sts)
• R2: Inc in first st, sc in next 7 sts, inc in next 3 sts, sc in next 7 sts, inc in next 2 sts. (26 sts)
• Sl st to first sc. FO.

Using green yarn and tapestry needle, embroider small dots (studs) on the bottom of the sole. Secure ends on the wrong side.

Boot Base (Yellow Yarn)

• Join yellow yarn with a sl st to any st in R2 of the sole.
• R3: Ch 1, sc in BLO around. (26 sts)
• R4-R5: Sc around. (26 sts)

Lightly stuff the boot as you go. For R6, we will create the lacing opening. Mark the 8 stitches at the front of the boot for the toe.

Boot Toe (Yellow Yarn)

• R6: Sc in the marked 8 stitches for the front toe. Turn. (8 sts)
• R7: Ch 1, dec, sc in next 4 sts, dec. Turn. (6 sts)
• R8: Ch 1, dec, sc in next 2 sts, dec. Turn. (4 sts)
• FO.

Boot Back & Lacing Sides (Yellow Yarn)

• Join yellow yarn with a sl st to the next unworked stitch from R5 (after the 8 toe stitches).
• R6 (cont.): Ch 1, sc in next 10 sts (these form the back/heel). Turn. (10 sts)
• R7: Ch 1, sc in next 10 sts. Turn. (10 sts)
• R8: Ch 1, dec, sc in next 6 sts, dec. Turn. (8 sts)
• R9: Ch 1, sc in next 8 sts. Turn. (8 sts)
• R10: Ch 1, dec, sc in next 4 sts, dec. Turn. (6 sts)
• FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Using the long tail, sew the side edges of the Boot Back & Lacing Sides piece to the side edges of the Boot Toe piece. This will form the boot shape with an open lacing channel. Continue to lightly stuff the boot as you sew.

Collar Trim (Green Yarn)

• Join green yarn with a sl st to any point on the top opening edge of the boot.
• R1: Ch 1, sc evenly around the entire top opening of the boot (including the top of the toe, up the lacing sides, and around the heel). (Approximately 24-28 sts, adjust as needed for a neat edge).
• Sl st to first sc. FO.

Tongue (Green Yarn)

• Ch 5.
• R1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 ch. Turn. (4 sts)
• R2-R4: Ch 1, sc in next 4 sts. Turn. (4 sts)
• FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Sew the tongue inside the lacing opening, centered under the toe section, ensuring it’s visible.

Laces (White Yarn)

• Ch 30.
• FO.

Using the tapestry needle, thread the white chain through the lacing gaps/stitches on the front of the boot, mimicking shoe laces. Tie a small bow at the top.

Brazilian Flag Detail (Green, Blue, White Yarn)

• With green yarn, embroider a small diamond shape onto the side of the boot.
• With blue yarn, embroider a small circle inside the green diamond.
• With white yarn, embroider a thin horizontal stripe across the blue circle.

Assembly

• Ensure the boot is firmly but not overstuffed.
• Securely attach the keychain ring to the top back/heel area of the boot with a sl st or by sewing it on with matching yarn. Weave in all remaining ends.
