Materials

• DK Weight Cotton Yarn (approximately 150g Brown, 50g Dark Pink, 20g Light Pink, 10g Cream, 30g Dark Green)
• 3.5mm Crochet Hook
• Tapestry Needle

• 1 small (approx. 1.5-2cm) Wooden Button
• 2 Wooden Beads (approx. 1cm diameter, for strap)

Instructions

Bag Base and Body (Brown Yarn):

• Row 1: Ch 31. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 28 ch. 3 sc in last ch. Working along the other side of the chain, sc in next 28 sts. 2 sc in the last st. Join with sl st to first sc. (62 sts)
• Rounds 2-4: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st. (62 sts)
• Round 5: Ch 1, *sc in next 9 sts, inc*. Repeat around. Join with sl st. (68 sts)
• Round 6: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st. (68 sts)
• Round 7: Ch 1, *sc in next 10 sts, inc*. Repeat around. Join with sl st. (74 sts)
• Rounds 8-15: Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st. (74 sts)
• Do not FO. Continue to back panel.

Back Panel and Flap (Brown Yarn):

• Row 1 (Back Panel): Ch 1, sc in first 37 sts. Turn. (37 sts)
• Rows 2-10: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn. (37 sts)
• Flap – Row 11: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn. (37 sts)
• Flap – Row 12: Ch 1, sk first sc, sc in next 35 sts, sk last sc. Turn. (35 sts)
• Flap – Row 13: Ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn. (35 sts)
• Flap – Row 14: Ch 1, sk first sc, sc in next 33 sts, sk last sc. Turn. (33 sts)
• Repeat Rows 13 and 14 alternately until 13 sts remain.
• Work 2-3 rows of sc in each of the remaining 13 sts.
• FO.

Strap (Brown Yarn):

• Ch 6.
• Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in next 4 ch. Turn. (5 sts)
• Rows 2-120 (or desired length): Ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn. (5 sts)
• FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.
• Alternatively, make a sturdy cord by chaining 150-180 and working a row of sl st back, then another row of sl st.

Small Leaves for Strap (Dark Green Yarn – Make 8-10):

• Ch 5.
• Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, sc in last ch. Sl st into base. FO.
• Sew these small leaves evenly spaced along the strap.

Large Rose (Dark Pink Yarn – Make 1):

• Ch 30.
• Row 1: 3 dc in 4th ch from hook, *sk 2 ch, sl st in next ch, ch 3, 3 dc in same ch*. Repeat from * to * to end of chain.
• FO, leaving a long tail. Roll the strip tightly from one end to form a rose and sew the base to secure it.

Medium Flowers (Light Pink Yarn – Make 3, Dark Pink Yarn – Make 2):

• MR, ch 2.
• Round 1: (Dc, ch 2, sl st) into MR 5 times to create 5 petals.
• Pull MR tight. FO, leaving a tail for sewing.

Small Flowers (Cream Yarn – Make 3, Dark Pink Yarn – Make 2):

• MR, ch 1.
• Round 1: (Sc, hdc, sc, sl st) into MR 5 times to create 5 petals.
• Pull MR tight. FO, leaving a tail for sewing.

Large Leaves (Dark Green Yarn – Make 6-8):

• Ch 10.
• Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 4 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch. 3 sc in last ch (tip of leaf).
• Working along the other side of the chain: sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next 4 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in last ch. Sl st to first sc.
• FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly:

• Sew the large rose, medium flowers, small flowers, and large leaves onto the flap and front of the bag body, arranging them as desired, mimicking the image.
• Sew the wooden button onto the front of the bag body, centered below the flap.
• Create a small chain loop on the underside of the flap to secure the button.
• Sew the strap to the sides of the bag body. Thread the wooden beads onto the strap ends before sewing for decoration.
• Weave in all remaining ends.
