Materials

• Sport weight yarn in White (MC)
• Sport weight yarn in Green (Color A)
• Sport weight yarn in Red (Color B)

• 2.5mm crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• Polyester fiberfill for stuffing
• Keychain ring and clasp
• Black beads (for cleats, optional) or black embroidery floss

Instructions

Sole (Color C – Black)

• Rnd 1: Ch 8. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and next 5 ch, 3 sc in last ch. Working on other side of chain, sc in next 5 ch, 2 sc in last ch. (16 sts)
• Rnd 2: Inc, sc in next 5, 3 inc, sc in next 5, 2 inc. (22 sts)
• Rnd 3: Sc around. (22 sts) Sl st to first sc. FO.

Base of Shoe (Color B – Red)

• Join Color B (Red) in BLO of any stitch of Rnd 3 of sole.
• Rnd 4: Working in BLO, sc around. (22 sts)
• Rnd 5: Sc around. (22 sts) Sl st to first sc. FO.

Mid-Shoe Body (MC – White)

• Join MC (White) to any stitch of Rnd 5.
• Rnd 6: Sc around. (22 sts)
• Rnd 7: Sc in first 7 sts, (dec, sc in next st) x 3, sc in next 6 sts. (19 sts)
• Rnd 8: Sc in first 6 sts, (dec, sc in next st) x 2, dec, sc in next 6 sts. (16 sts)
• Start stuffing the toe firm.

Upper Shoe & Stripes (MC – White, Color A – Green)

• Rnd 9 (Color B – Red Stripe): Join Color B (Red). Sc around. (16 sts)
• Rnd 10 (MC – White): Join MC (White). Sc around. (16 sts)
• Rnd 11 (Color A – Green): Join Color A (Green). Sc around. (16 sts) Sl st to first sc. FO.

Tongue (MC – White)

• With MC (White), ch 5.
• Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. (4 sc) Ch 1, turn.
• Row 2-4: Sc across. (4 sc) Ch 1, turn.
• Row 5: Dec, dec. (2 sc) FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Finishing

• Stuff the shoe firmly, shaping it as you go.
• Sew the tongue onto the top opening of the shoe, slightly to the front.
• Laces (MC – White): Using white yarn or embroidery floss, embroider ‘laces’ across the upper white and green sections, starting from the toe end towards the ankle.
• ‘IRAN’ Text (Red embroidery floss): Embroider the word ‘IRAN’ (or ‘ایران’ in Persian script if preferred) in red on the white part of the tongue.
• Iranian Flag Emblem: On one side of the shoe, on the white stripe, embroider a small Iranian flag. This can be simplified to a small vertical rectangle of green, white, and red with a tiny black soccer ball in the center of the white stripe.
• Cleats (Color C – Black or Black Beads): Using black yarn, make small knots or French knots on the sole for the cleats, or sew on small black beads evenly spaced across the sole.
• Attach the keychain ring and clasp to the top back of the shoe.
• Weave in all remaining ends.
