Materials

• Small amount of white sport or DK weight yarn
• Small amount of red sport or DK weight yarn
• Small amount of green sport or DK weight yarn
• Small amount of black sport or DK weight yarn
• 2.5mm or 3.0mm crochet hook (adjust to your yarn weight)
• Fiberfill for stuffing
• Yarn needle

Instructions

Gauge: Not critical for this project, just ensure stitches are tight enough to prevent stuffing from showing through.

Sole (Black Yarn)

• Ch 9.
• Round 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 6 ch, 3 sc in last ch. Working on the other side of the chain: sc in next 6 ch, 2 sc in last ch. (18 sts)
• Round 2: Inc, sc in next 6, inc x 3, sc in next 6, inc x 2. (24 sts)
• Round 3: Sc around in BLO. (24 sts) – This creates a clean edge for the boot.

Boot Body

Continue from the sole, changing colors as indicated.

• Round 4 (White Yarn): Sc around. (24 sts)
• Round 5: Sc around. (24 sts)
• Round 6 (Red Yarn): Sc around. (24 sts)
• Round 7: Sc around. (24 sts)
• Round 8 (Green Yarn): Sc around. (24 sts)
• Round 9: Sc around. (24 sts)

Lacing (White Yarn)

• Cut a length of white yarn. Thread through the ch-1 spaces created in Round 10, creating criss-cross laces. Tie a small bow or knot at the top.

Studs (Make 6-8, Black Yarn)

• MR 3 sc.
• Round 1: Sc around. (3 sts)
• Sl st to first sc and FO, leaving a tail for sewing.
• Sew these small studs evenly onto the bottom of the black sole.

Iraqi Flag Details (Black Yarn, White Yarn, Green Yarn)

Using black yarn, surface crochet or embroider a rectangle on the side of the white upper boot, between the green stripe and the lacing area. This forms the black stripe for the flag.

• Stars: With green yarn, embroider three small stars onto the black stripe.
• “IRAQ” Text: With white yarn, embroider the word “IRAQ” below the stars on the black stripe.

Keychain Loop (White Yarn)

• Attach white yarn to the back top center of the boot. Ch 10, sl st back into the same stitch to form a loop. FO and weave in ends.

Finishing

• Weave in all remaining loose ends securely.
• Attach the keychain ring to the crocheted loop.
