Materials

• Sport/DK weight yarn in Royal Blue
• Sport/DK weight yarn in Kelly Green

• 2.0mm or 2.5mm crochet hook (or size suitable for yarn)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Polyester fiberfill for stuffing
• Keychain ring with chain

Instructions

Boot Body (Royal Blue)

• Rnd 1: Ch 6. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 chs, 3 sc in last ch. Turn and work on the other side of the chain: sc in next 3 chs, 2 sc in last ch. (12 sts)
• Rnd 2: Inc, sc in next 3 sts, inc x3, sc in next 3 sts, inc x2. (18 sts)
• Rnd 3: Sc in each st around. (18 sts)
• Rnd 4: Sc in next 7 sts, dec x2, sc in next 7 sts. (16 sts)
• Rnd 5: Sc in next 6 sts, dec x2, sc in next 6 sts. (14 sts)
• Rnd 6-10: Sc in each st around. (14 sts for 5 rounds)
• Sl st to next st and FO, leaving a long tail for sewing. Stuff the boot firmly.

Cuff (Kelly Green)

• Join Kelly Green yarn to the back of the ankle opening of the boot.
• Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in each st around the opening. (14 sc)
• Rnd 2: Sc in each st around. (14 sc)
• Sl st to first sc and FO. Weave in ends.

Side Stripes (Green, White, Red) – Make 2 sets

• Green Stripe: Ch 4. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 chs. (3 sc). FO.
• White Stripe: Ch 4. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 chs. (3 sc). FO.
• Red Stripe: Ch 4. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 chs. (3 sc). FO.
• Sew one green, one white, and one red stripe together side-by-side to form a small Italian flag strip. Repeat for the second set.
• Sew one flag strip to each side of the blue boot body.

Laces (White)

• Using white yarn, ch 15-20 (or desired length for laces). FO.
• Using your tapestry needle, thread the chain through the front of the boot in a criss-cross pattern, just like real shoelaces. Tie a small knot or bow.

Sole with Studs (White)

• Rnd 1: Ch 6. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 chs, 3 sc in last ch. Turn and work on the other side of the chain: sc in next 3 chs, 2 sc in last ch. (12 sts)
• Rnd 2: Inc, sc in next 3 sts, inc x3, sc in next 3 sts, inc x2. (18 sts)
• Rnd 3: Sc in BLO in each st around. (18 sts)
• Rnd 4: (Stud Round) Sc in next 2 sts, (3 sc in next st for a stud, sc in next 2 sts) repeat 5 times, 3 sc in last st for a stud. (24 sts)
• Sl st to next st and FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Embellishments

• Using black embroidery floss, embroider the word “ITALIA” and a small Italian flag shield onto the side of the blue boot, opposite the crocheted stripes, as seen in the image.

Assembly

• Carefully sew the white sole piece to the bottom of the blue boot body. Ensure the studs align to look natural.
• Attach the keychain ring and chain securely to the top back of the green cuff of the boot.
• Weave in all remaining loose ends.
