Materials

Instructions

Yellow Flower Center

• Start with Yellow thread. Make a MR.
• Row 1: Ch 1 (does not count as st), 5 sc into MR. Sl st to join to first sc. (5 sts)
• Fasten off Yellow thread.

Light Purple Lower Petals (Make 3)

• Attach Light Purple thread to any sc of the Yellow Center.
• Petal 1: (Ch 2, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, Ch 2, sl st) into the same sc. Sl st into the next sc of the Yellow Center.
• Petal 2: (Ch 2, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, Ch 2, sl st) into the same sc. Sl st into the next sc of the Yellow Center.
• Petal 3: (Ch 2, 1 dc, 1 tr, 1 dc, Ch 2, sl st) into the same sc. You should have 2 sc remaining from the Yellow Center.
• Fasten off Light Purple thread.

Dark Purple Upper Petals (Make 2)

• Attach Dark Purple thread to one of the 2 remaining sc from the Yellow Center.
• Petal 1: (Ch 2, 2 tr, Ch 2, sl st) into the same sc. Sl st into the next (last) sc of the Yellow Center.
• Petal 2: (Ch 2, 2 tr, Ch 2, sl st) into the same sc.
• Fasten off Dark Purple thread.

Light Green Leaves (Make 2)

• Start with Light Green thread.
• Ch 6.
• Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in last ch. (5 sts). Ch 1, turn.
• Row 2: Sc in first st, hdc in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in last st. (5 sts).
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Light Green Ring Band

• Start with Light Green thread.
• Ch 45 (or adjust length to fit your finger comfortably).
• Sl st into the first ch to form a ring. Be careful not to twist the chain.
• Round 1: Ch 1, sc in each ch around. Sl st to first sc to join. (45 sc)
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly

• Gently arrange the petals of the pansy flower. The two dark purple petals should be positioned at the top, and the three light purple petals at the bottom.
• Using your tapestry needle, weave in any loose ends from the flower petals to secure their shape.
• Attach the two Light Green leaves to the back of the pansy flower, positioned so they peek out from behind the lower petals, using the tails you left.
• Center the completed pansy flower on the crocheted ring band. Sew it securely in place using the remaining tail from the ring band or flower, ensuring all parts are firmly attached.
• Weave in all remaining loose ends to finish.
