Materials

• Sport weight yarn in Royal Blue
• Sport weight yarn in White

Instructions

Gauge: Not crucial for this project, just make sure your stitches are tight enough so stuffing doesn’t show through.

Notes: Work in continuous rounds unless otherwise specified. Use a stitch marker to keep track of rounds.

Sole (Start with White yarn)

• Round 1: Ch 8. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 5 ch, 3 sc in last ch. Turn to work along the other side of the chain. Sc in next 5 ch, 2 sc in last ch. (16 sts)
• Round 2: Inc, sc in next 5, inc x 3, sc in next 5, inc x 2. (22 sts)
• Round 3: Sc in each st around. (22 sts)
• Sl st to first sc. FO White yarn.

Boot Body (Switch to Royal Blue yarn)

• Round 4: Join Royal Blue yarn in the back loops only (BLO) of any stitch. Sc in each BLO st around. (22 sts)
• Round 5-8: Sc in each st around. (22 sts)
• Round 9: Sc in next 7, dec, sc in next 5, dec, sc in next 6. (20 sts)
• Round 10: Sc in next 6, dec, sc in next 4, dec, sc in next 6. (18 sts)
• Round 11: Sc in next 5, dec, sc in next 3, dec, sc in next 6. (16 sts)
• Start stuffing the boot firmly.
• Round 12: Sc in next 4, dec, sc in next 2, dec, sc in next 6. (14 sts)
• Round 13: Sc in next 3, dec, sc in next 1, dec, sc in next 6. (12 sts)
• Continue stuffing.
• Round 14: (Dec, sc in next 2) x 3. (9 sts)
• Round 15: (Dec, sc in next 1) x 3. (6 sts)
• Sl st, FO, leaving a long tail. Weave tail through remaining 6 sts and pull tight to close. Weave in ends.

Boot Collar (Red yarn)

• Join Red yarn at the top edge of the boot (where Round 4 started). Ch 1, sc evenly around the opening. Sl st to first sc. FO.

Tongue (Royal Blue yarn)

• Row 1: Ch 4. Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch. Ch 1, turn. (3 sts)
• Row 2-4: Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn. (3 sts)
• FO, leaving a tail for sewing. Sew the tongue to the top opening of the boot, slightly overlapping the red collar.

Laces (White and Red yarn)

• Using White yarn, embroider straight diagonal lines across the front of the boot, starting from the toe end up towards the top opening, mimicking shoelaces.
• Using Red yarn, embroider shorter diagonal lines over the white ones, criss-crossing to complete the lacing effect.

Studs (Black yarn)

• Using Black yarn and a yarn needle, embroider small dots or French knots evenly spaced on the white sole to represent the cleats.

Embellishments (White yarn)

• Using White yarn and a yarn needle, carefully embroider “FFF FRANCE” and the rooster logo onto the side of the royal blue boot, referring to the image for placement. Alternatively, you can use white fabric paint for these details if embroidery is too intricate.

Assembly

• Attach the keychain ring to the top heel part of the boot.
• Weave in any remaining loose ends.
