- Tongue: Using Red yarn, embroider an oval shape inside the mouth.
- Gums: Using Light Pink yarn, embroider thin lines above and below the tongue.
- Cheeks: Using Red yarn, embroider small oval ‘blush’ marks on each side of the mouth.
- Freckles & Holes: Using Red yarn, embroider three small ‘freckle’ dots on each cheek. Using Bright Yellow yarn (or a slightly darker yellow if available), embroider irregular small circles randomly across Spongebob’s yellow body for his ‘sponge holes’.
Assembly
- Embroider all facial features (mouth, teeth, tongue, gums, cheeks, freckles, sponge holes) onto one of the yellow/white/brown body panels (this will be the front).
- Sew the two eye pieces onto the top yellow part of the front panel, slightly above the mouth.
- Sew the nose between the eyes, slightly overlapping the mouth.
- Sew the tie onto the white shirt portion, centered.
- Sew the shoes to the bottom of the legs.
- Sew the arms to the sides of the yellow body, just above the white shirt.
- Sew the legs to the bottom of the brown pants, spaced apart.
- Place the front and back body panels together, right sides facing out. Using a yarn needle and yellow yarn (or corresponding color for each section), whip stitch or sc around the edges, leaving a gap for stuffing.
- Stuff the pillow firmly with polyester fiberfill.
- Close the gap with whip stitch or sc. Weave in all remaining ends.
