Instructions

Sunflower Motif (Make 7-8 motifs for a bracelet)

• 1. Center (Brown Yarn):
  • Make a MR. Ch 1 (does not count as st). Work 12 SC into the ring.
  • Sl st to the first SC to join. Fasten off brown yarn and weave in the tail. (12 sts)
• 2. Petals (Yellow Yarn):
  • Attach yellow yarn into any SC of the brown ring. Ch 1 (does not count as st).
  • *[In the same SC, work (HDC, DC, HDC). Sl st into the next SC.]* Repeat * to * 6 times around the ring. You will have 6 petals.
  • Sl st to the first HDC to join. Fasten off yellow yarn and weave in tails.
• 3. Squaring Round (White Yarn):
  • Attach white yarn into any Sl st between two yellow petals. Ch 2 (counts as 1st HDC). HDC in the same space.
  • *[Work 3 HDC into the center DC of the next yellow petal. In the next Sl st between petals, work (HDC, Ch 2, HDC) to form a corner.]* Repeat * to * 3 more times.
  • Work 3 HDC into the center DC of the last yellow petal. Join with a sl st to the top of the initial Ch 2.
  • Fasten off white yarn and weave in tails. You should now have a square motif with 4 Ch-2 corner spaces.

Joining the Motifs & Bracelet Ties (Light Green Yarn):

• 1. First Tie: Ch 40.
• 2. First Side of Bracelet:
  • Attach green yarn with a sl st to a top-left corner Ch-2 space of the first sunflower motif. Ch 1, SC in the same Ch-2 space.
  • Ch 3, SC in the top-right corner Ch-2 space of the *same* motif.
  • Ch 3, SC in the top-left corner Ch-2 space of the *next* sunflower motif.
  • Repeat ‘Ch 3, SC in top-right corner of current motif, Ch 3, SC in top-left corner of next motif’ until all motifs are joined along their top edge.
• 3. Second Tie: Ch 40.
• 4. Second Side of Bracelet:
  • Turn your work so the bottom edges of the motifs are facing up.
  • Sl st back along the Ch-40 tie until you reach the bottom-right corner Ch-2 space of the last motif. Ch 1, SC in this Ch-2 space.
  • Ch 3, SC in the bottom-left corner Ch-2 space of the *same* motif.
  • Ch 3, SC in the bottom-right corner Ch-2 space of the *previous* sunflower motif.
  • Repeat ‘Ch 3, SC in bottom-left corner of current motif, Ch 3, SC in bottom-right corner of previous motif’ until you’ve joined all motifs along their bottom edge.
• 5. Final Connection: Sl st into the base of the initial Ch-40 tie.
• Fasten off green yarn and weave in all remaining ends securely.
