Materials

• Sport/DK weight yarn in Skin Tone
• Sport/DK weight yarn in Black
• Sport/DK weight yarn in Red

HAIR STRANDS (Black yarn, make 20-25)

• Ch 16. Starting in 2nd ch from hook, work 2 sc in each chain across (30 sc). This will create a natural curl.
• FO, leaving a tail for sewing.

HEADBAND (Gold/Yellow yarn)

• Ch 25 (adjust length to fit head circumference). Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (24 sc).
• Sl st to join ends, forming a ring. FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

RED STAR (for headband)

• R1: 5 sc in MR (5)
• R2: (Ch 2, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sl st in the same sc, sc in next sc) x 5. This forms the points of the star.
• Sl st to finish. FO, leaving a tail for sewing.

CAPE (Red yarn)

• Ch 16.
• R1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 14 ch. Ch 1, turn (15 sc)
• R2-4: 15 sc. Ch 1, turn.
• R5: Dec, 11 sc, dec. Ch 1, turn. (13 sc)
• R6-7: 13 sc. Ch 1, turn.
• R8: Dec, 9 sc, dec. Ch 1, turn. (11 sc)
• R9-10: 11 sc. Ch 1, turn.
• Work a round of sc evenly around the entire edge of the cape for a neat finish. Sl st, FO, leaving a long tail for sewing.

ASSEMBLY & EMBROIDERY

• 1. Sew the Body to the bottom of the Head.
• 2. Sew the Legs to the bottom of the Blue shorts part of the Body, evenly spaced.
• 3. Sew the Arms to the sides of the Red top part of the Body.
• 4. Attach the Hair Cap to the top of the Head, centering it.
• 5. Sew the Hair Strands onto the Hair Cap, covering the head evenly to create volume and style as desired.
• 6. Sew the Headband onto the doll’s head, positioning it above the eyes.
• 7. Sew the Red Star onto the front center of the Headband.
• 8. Using Black yarn and a tapestry needle, embroider eyebrows and eyelashes. Use Red yarn for a small mouth. Apply a touch of pink blush to the cheeks.
• 9. Using White yarn, embroider small stars onto the Blue shorts area.
• 10. Using White yarn, embroider a ‘V’ shape onto the front of each Red boot for detail.
• 11. Using Gold/Yellow yarn, surface crochet or embroider the ‘W’ logo onto the front of the Red top section of the Body.
• 12. Finally, sew the Cape to the back of the doll’s neck/shoulders.
