Materials

• Orange sport weight yarn (for the shoe body)

Instructions

Sole (Dark Grey Yarn)

Shoe Body (Orange Yarn)

• Rnd 4: Join orange yarn in BLO of any stitch of Rnd 3. Sc in BLO of each st around. (22 sts)
• Rnd 5-6: Sc in each st around. (22 sts for 2 rounds)
• Rnd 7 (Toe Shaping): Sc in next 8 sts, dec x3, sc in next 8 sts. (19 sts)
• Rnd 8: Sc in next 7 sts, dec x3, sc in next 6 sts. (16 sts)
• Rnd 9: Sc in next 6 sts, dec x2, sc in next 6 sts. (14 sts)

Shaping the Ankle Opening (Orange Yarn)

• From Rnd 9, identify the front 4 stitches (these will remain unworked for the opening). We will work rows on the remaining 10 stitches to form the heel and sides.

• Row 1: Ch 1, turn. Sc in the next 10 sts (working across the back and sides, leaving the front 4 sts unworked). (10 sts)
• Row 2-4: Ch 1, turn. Sc in next 10 sts. (10 sts for 3 rows)
• FO, leaving a tail to close any small gaps if necessary.

Blue Collar Trim (Royal Blue Yarn)

• Join royal blue yarn at the back heel of the shoe opening.
• Working around the entire opening (the 4 unworked front stitches, up the 3 row edges on both sides, and across the top 10 stitches of the heel), sc evenly to create a neat edge. Aim for approximately 20 sc stitches around the opening (4 + 3 + 10 + 3 = 20).
• Sl st to first sc, FO. Weave in ends.

Laces (White Yarn)

• Ch 30-35. FO.
• Thread the chain through the front upper part of the shoe, creating a lacing pattern as seen in the image. Tie a small bow.

Embroidered Details (White, Blue, Orange Yarn)

• "ORANJE" Lettering: Using white yarn and a yarn needle, carefully embroider the word "ORANJE" on the outer side of the shoe body, towards the heel.
• Emblem: On the opposite outer side (right side of the shoe when looking at the toe), about halfway along the shoe:
  • First, with white yarn, embroider a small oval or circle as the base.
  • Next, with royal blue yarn, embroider a small border around the white shape.
  • Finally, with orange yarn, embroider a simplified lion or crest shape within the blue border, as depicted in the image.
• White Stripes: Using white yarn, embroider two short, horizontal dashes or stripes on the outer side of the shoe, positioned below the laces and near the toe.

Finishing

• If desired, insert a small amount of fiberfill into the toe of the shoe to help maintain its shape.
• Attach the keychain ring to the back heel of the shoe, through the blue trim or a sturdy stitch in the orange body.
• Weave in all remaining loose ends.
