Instructions

Main Bag Panels (Make 2 identical)

Start with Color C (Pastel Green).

Ch 36.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 34 ch. Ch 1, turn. (35 sc)
Rows 2-5: Sc across. Ch 1, turn. (4 rows)
Change to Color B (Pastel Blue).

Side & Bottom Gusset

Start with Color C (Pastel Green).

Ch 5.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 3 ch. Ch 1, turn. (4 sc)
Rows 2-20: Sc across. Ch 1, turn. (20 rows – adjust as needed to match front panel side length)
Change to Color B (Pastel Blue).
Rows 21-45: Sc across. Ch 1, turn. (25 rows – adjust)
Change to Color A (Pastel Pink).
Rows 46-60: Sc across. Ch 1, turn. (15 rows – adjust)
Continue in Color A until the strip is long enough to go around the entire perimeter of one main panel, from one sl st curve on the top edge, around the bottom, and up to the other sl st curve. It should be approximately 30-32 inches long. FO.

Zipper Placement

Place the zipper along the flat top edges of both main bag panels (Row 17 edges). Pin in place. Hand-stitch the zipper to the top edges of the front and back panels using matching thread or yarn.

Assembly

With Color A yarn and yarn needle, sew one long edge of the gusset strip to the perimeter of the front panel, starting and ending at the zipper’s edge. Ensure stripes align.
Repeat for the back panel, sewing the other long edge of the gusset strip to the back panel’s perimeter.
Weave in all ends securely.

Bag Strap

With Color A (Pastel Pink).

Ch 120 (or desired length for strap).
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and across. Ch 1, turn. (119 sc)
Rows 2-3: Sc across. Ch 1, turn.
FO, leaving long tails for sewing.
Attach one end of the strap to each side of the bag, near the top, by securely sewing with your yarn needle.

Rainbow Applique

Using Color F (Light Pink, Light Yellow, Light Blue).
