Materials

• Fingering weight yarn in Coral (main flower color)
• Fingering weight yarn in Yellow (flower center)
• Fingering weight yarn in Green (leaves and ring band)
• 2.0mm crochet hook (or size suitable for your yarn)
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Abbreviations

• ch – chain
• sl st – slip stitch
• sc – single crochet
• hdc – half double crochet
• dc – double crochet
• tr – treble crochet
• MR – magic ring (or magic circle)

Instructions

Flower (Coral Yarn)

• Start with a MR.
• Petal 1: Ch 2, (dc, tr, dc) into MR, ch 2, sl st into MR.
• Petal 2: Ch 2, (dc, tr, dc) into MR, ch 2, sl st into MR.
• Petal 3: Ch 2, (dc, tr, dc) into MR, ch 2, sl st into MR.
• Petal 4: Ch 2, (dc, tr, dc) into MR, ch 2, sl st into MR.
• Petal 5: Ch 2, (dc, tr, dc) into MR, ch 2, sl st into MR.
• Pull the MR tight to close the center. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Flower Center (Yellow Yarn)

• With yellow yarn, make a very small knot or wrap the yarn around your hook a few times to create a small ‘puff’ stitch, then sl st to secure into the center of the flower.
• Alternatively, use a yarn needle to make a few small stitches into the center for the yellow pistil. Secure threads on the back.

Leaves (Green Yarn – Make 2)

• Ch 6.
• Row 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, sc in last ch.
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Ring Band (Green Yarn)

• Ch 60 (adjust chain length to your desired finger circumference).
• Join with a sl st to the first ch to form a ring, being careful not to twist the chain.
• Round 1: Ch 1 (does not count as a stitch), sc in each ch around. Join with a sl st to the first sc.
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Assembly

• Using the yarn tails and a yarn needle, carefully sew the two green leaves to the back of the coral flower, positioning them slightly behind and to the side of the petals as seen in the image.
• Then, sew the assembled flower (with leaves) securely onto the center top of the green ring band. Ensure all ends are woven in neatly on the inside of the ring.
