Materials

• Fingering weight cotton yarn in Dark Green, Light Green, and Beige
• 2.0 mm (US B/1) crochet hook
• Small 6mm brown wooden beads (for avocado pits)

Instructions

Step 1: The Avocado Flesh (Make 2)
Using Light Green yarn:
Ch 5.
Rnd 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 3 sc in the last ch. Working along the opposite side of the chain: sc in next 2 ch, 2 sc in the starting ch. (10 sts)
Rnd 2: Inc in first st, sc in next 2 sts, inc in next 3 sts, sc in next 2 sts, inc in last 2 sts. (16 sts)
Fasten off Light Green.

Step 2: The Avocado Skin
Join Dark Green yarn to any stitch along the edge.
Rnd 3: Sc in each stitch around, making 3 sc in the bottom-most stitch to preserve the bottom curve, and working a sl st at the top point to taper the avocado shape. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Step 3: The Leaf (Make 2)
Using Dark Green yarn:
Ch 5. Sl st in the 2nd ch from hook, sc in next, hdc in next, (sc, sl st) in the last ch. Fasten off, leaving a tail.

Step 4: Assembling the Charms
Using sewing thread, sew a small 6mm brown wooden bead onto the center of the light green portion of each avocado to act as the pit. Sew a tiny leaf to the tapered top of each avocado.

Step 5: Braided Band & Finishing
Cut two 20-inch strands of Dark Green, Light Green, and Beige yarn. Fold them in half to form a loop at one end (this acts as the buttonhole for your closure) and tie a knot. Secure the loop and braid the strands tightly to fit your wrist size. Tie a knot at the end, thread on a 10mm wooden bead as a button, and knot securely. Finally, tie the avocado charms securely onto the braided band, weave in all ends, and trim.
