Materials

• Fingering weight yarn in Cream (Color A)
• Fingering weight yarn in Light Blue (Color B)
• Fingering weight yarn in Yellow/Gold (Color C)
• 2.0mm crochet hook (or size suitable for yarn)
• Small piece of white fabric with delicate floral pattern (for pillow)
• Polyester fiberfill (tiny amount for bed frame if desired, and for pillow)
• Yarn needle
• Sewing needle and matching thread
• Scissors
• Keychain ring and chain

Abbreviations

• ch = chain

Instructions

Gauge: Not critical for this project, but aim for tight stitches to prevent stuffing from showing.

Note: Work in continuous rounds/rows unless otherwise specified. For a sturdier bed frame, you may lightly stuff the frame pieces before sewing them closed, or work two flat pieces and sew them together.

Bed Frame (Make 1 – Cream Yarn Color A)

Headboard/Footboard (Make 2 identical):

• Row 1: Ch 11, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (10 sc). Ch 1, turn.
• Rows 2-8: Sc in each st across (10 sc). Ch 1, turn.
• Shaping Top Edge: Sl st in first 2 sts, sc in next 6 sts, sl st in last 2 sts. Fo.
• Fold this piece in half lengthwise (wrong sides together) or make a second identical piece. Whipstitch the edges together to create a sturdy, thick panel.

Side Rails (Make 2):

• Row 1: Ch 16, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (15 sc). Ch 1, turn.
• Rows 2-3: Sc in each st across (15 sc). Ch 1, turn. Fo after Row 3.
• Fold this piece in half lengthwise or make a second identical piece. Whipstitch the edges together to create a sturdy, thick panel.

Legs (Make 4):

• Round 1: In a magic ring, ch 1, 6 sc. Sl st to first sc. (6 sc)
• Fo, leaving a long tail for sewing. Slightly stuff if desired.

Assembly of Bed Frame:

• Attach the Headboard and Footboard panels to the shorter ends of the Side Rails, sewing along the edges.
• Sew the 4 Legs to the bottom corners of the assembled bed frame.

Mattress (Light Blue Yarn Color B)

• Row 1: Ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (9 sc). Ch 1, turn.
• Rows 2-15: Sc in each st across (9 sc). Ch 1, turn. Fo after Row 15.
• This piece remains flat.

Blanket (Light Blue Yarn Color B & Yellow/Gold Yarn Color C)

Using Color B:

• Row 1: Ch 10, sc in 2nd ch from hook and across (9 sc). Ch 1, turn.
• Rows 2-4: Sc in each st across (9 sc). Ch 1, turn.

Now, we’ll create the textured pattern with Color C:

• Row 5 (Color C): Sc in first st. *Ch 1, skip next st, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next st, ch 1, skip next st*. Rep from * to * twice more. Sc in last st. Ch 1, turn. (This creates 3 small bobble/cluster-like patterns with spaces.)
• Row 6 (Color B): Sc in each sc and ch-1 space across (9 sc). Ch 1, turn.
• Rows 7-8 (Color B): Sc in each st across (9 sc). Ch 1, turn.
• Row 9 (Color C): Sc in first st. *Ch 1, skip next st, (sc, ch 1, sc) in next st, ch 1, skip next st*. Rep from * to * twice more. Sc in last st. Ch 1, turn.
• Row 10 (Color B): Sc in each sc and ch-1 space across (9 sc). Ch 1, turn.
• Rows 11-12 (Color B): Sc in each st across (9 sc). Ch 1, turn. Fo after Row 12.

Pillow (Fabric)

• Cut a small rectangle (approx. 1.5 inches x 1 inch or to desired scale) from your chosen patterned fabric.
• Fold in half (right sides together) and sew two sides, leaving one short side open.
• Turn right side out, lightly stuff with fiberfill.
• Fold in the raw edges of the opening and hand-stitch closed. Alternatively, use fabric glue to seal the edges.

Final Assembly

• Place the Mattress onto the bed frame.
• Drape the Blanket over the Mattress.
• Place the fabric Pillow at the head of the bed.
• Securely sew the keychain ring and chain to the center of the headboard or one of the side rails of the bed.
• Weave in all remaining yarn ends.
