Instructions

This pattern is worked by creating individual motifs and then joining them to form the necklace. Adjust hook size for desired tension and drape.

Motif A: Small 3-Petal Flower (Make 4 in Pastel Pink, 4 in Pastel Lavender)

Using chosen color (Pastel Pink or Pastel Lavender), Ch 4, join with sl st to first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1 (Petals): *Ch 2, (dc, tr, dc) into the ring, Ch 2, sl st into the ring*; rep from * to * 2 more times (3 petals total). Fasten off, leaving a tail for weaving or attaching. Add a small seed bead to the center using a needle if desired, securing it from the back.

Motif B: Small Leaf (Make 6-8 in Pastel Mint/Teal)

Using Pastel Mint/Teal thread, Ch 5.
Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next ch, (dc, ch 2, dc) in last ch (this forms the point), then working down the other side of the starting chain: dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off, leaving a tail.

Motif C: Lacy Connecting Element (Make 8-10 in Cream/Ivory)

Using Cream/Ivory thread, Ch 6, join with sl st to first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 12 sc into the ring. Join with sl st to first sc.
Rnd 2: Ch 1, *sc in next st, ch 3, sk 1 st*; rep from * to * 5 more times. Join with sl st to first sc. (6 ch-3 loops)
Rnd 3: Sl st into first ch-3 sp, ch 1, *(sc, ch 3, sc) in ch-3 sp, ch 5*; rep from * to * 5 more times. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Note: These motifs will be joined together during assembly, or as you go. For this pattern, we will join them during assembly.

Assembly Instructions:

Arrange your finished motifs according to the image, creating a symmetrical design. The necklace is built around a central focal point.

Step 1: Create the Central Drop Element

Make a slightly larger Cream/Ivory lace base. Ch 8, join with sl st to first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 19 dc into the ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (20 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, *sc in next st, ch 4, sk 1 st*; rep from * to * 9 more times. Join with sl st to first sc. (10 ch-4 loops)
Rnd 3: Sl st into first ch-4 sp, ch 1, *(sc, ch 3, sc) in ch-4 sp, ch 5*; rep from * to * 9 more times. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.
Attach one Pastel Pink 3-petal flower to the center of this larger cream motif with a few stitches.
Attach two Pastel Lavender 3-petal flowers, one on each side, slightly below the pink flower, securing them to the cream motif.
Attach two Pastel Mint/Teal leaves, one on each side, pointing outwards from below the lavender flowers.
Thread a small pearl onto a separate piece of thread and securely attach it to the very bottom point of this central assembled drop.

Step 2: Building the Necklace Body (Wings)

Starting from the top left point of the central cream motif (from Rnd 3 of the larger motif), join a Motif C (Lacy Connecting Element) by sl st into one of its ch-5 loops.
To this first Lacy Connecting Element, attach a Pastel Pink 3-petal flower to its center.
Attach a Pastel Mint/Teal leaf to the top outside point of the Lacy Connecting Element.
Attach another Pastel Lavender 3-petal flower to the bottom outside point of the Lacy Connecting Element.
Continue creating a chain of 3-4 Motif C (Lacy Connecting Elements) on each side, joining them loop-to-loop with a sl st or by sewing with a needle.
As you join each new Motif C, attach a small flower (alternating pink/lavender) or a leaf to its center or edge, following the general arrangement in the image. Aim for a symmetrical look on both sides of the central drop.
Add a small pearl or seed bead to the center of each flower using a beading needle and thread, securing it from the back.

Step 3: Creating the Neck Strap

Using Cream/Ivory thread and your beading needle, string approximately 10-15 small pearls or beads onto the thread.
Create a simple crochet chain for the remainder of the strap, or continue stringing beads, ensuring the desired length for the necklace.
Attach one end of the beaded/crochet strap to the outermost top corner of the necklace body on one side.
Repeat for the other side.
Sew a small clasp to the ends of the neck strap for closure.

Step 4: Finishing

Carefully weave in all loose ends using your tapestry needle. Trim excess thread.
Gently block your necklace if needed to help the motifs lay flat and maintain their shape.
