Butterfly Motif (Make 5)

Use Yarn A (Cream) for outlines, Yarn B (Pale Blue) for inner wings, and Yarn C (Light Yellow) for accents.

• Body (Yarn A): Ch 5, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next ch, dc in last ch. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
• Upper Wings (Make 2 per butterfly):
  • With Yarn B (Pale Blue), make a MR. Ch 3 (counts as dc), 9 dc in MR. Sl st to top of ch 3. (10 dc)
  • Round 2 (Yarn B): Ch 3, 2dc in each st around. Sl st to top of ch 3. (20 dc). Fasten off Yarn B.
  • Edging (Yarn A): Attach Yarn A to any stitch from Round 2. Ch 1, *sc in next st, hdc in next st, dc in next st, hdc in next st, sc in next st*. Repeat around, sl st to first sc. Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
• Lower Wings (Make 2 per butterfly):

• Flower (Yarn A):

Necklace Assembly

This is where your necklace comes to life. A suggested symmetrical layout is 5 butterflies and 10-12 floral clusters.

1. Central Element: Choose one butterfly to be your central focal point. Using strong thread or thin jewelry wire, attach 3-5 strands of varying lengths (e.g., 3cm, 4cm, 5cm) of 3mm pearls to the bottom of this central butterfly, creating a beautiful tassel. Secure firmly.
2. Necklace Chain: Using jewelry wire or strong beading thread, begin stringing 3mm pearls for the main necklace chain. You will be building outwards from the central butterfly.
3. Attaching Motifs:
   • Attach the central butterfly (with tassel) to the main pearl strand.
   • To the immediate left and right of the central butterfly, attach a floral cluster.
   • Next, attach a butterfly motif on each side.
   • Continue with a floral cluster, then another butterfly on each side.
   • Arrange the remaining floral clusters and butterflies to create a symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing garland effect, attaching them to the pearl strand with small jump rings or by carefully sewing them with fine thread. Ensure the motifs lie flat and are evenly spaced.
4. Finishing the Necklace:
