Instructions

This necklace is constructed from several individual motifs that are then joined together. We will create a central drop motif, two main flower motifs for each side, and smaller connecting motifs.

Part 1: Central Drop Motif (Make 1)

With Olive Green thread:
Rnd 1: Start with MR, ch 1 (does not count as st), 8 sc into MR. Pull tail to close. Join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, *sc in next st, ch 3, picot, ch 3* rep 8 times. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off Green. (8 sc, 8 picots)
With Light Beige thread:
Rnd 3: Join Beige in any ch-3 sp from Rnd 2. Ch 3 (counts as dc), (2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same ch-3 sp (this forms first petal). *Skip next sc, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch-3 sp* rep 7 times. Join with sl st to top of beg ch-3. (8 petals)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 2 dc. In ch-2 sp: (sc, picot, ch 2, picot, sc). *Sc in next 3 dc, sk next 2 dc (between petals), sc in next 3 dc, in ch-2 sp: (sc, picot, ch 2, picot, sc)* rep around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off Beige.
With Olive Green thread:
Rnd 5 (Edging/Joining Row): Join Green with sl st in first ch-2 sp of a picot from Rnd 4. Ch 1, (sc, picot, sc) in same ch-2 sp. *Ch 5, (sc, picot, sc) in next ch-2 sp* rep 7 times. Join with sl st to first sc. Do NOT fasten off. You will now create the central dangle.
Central Dangle: From the (sc, picot, sc) of one ch-2 sp: Ch 15, thread 3 pearl beads onto the chain, sl st back through the 12th ch from hook, ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook (forms picot), sl st in each remaining ch down to the base. Fasten off Green.

Part 2: Main Flower Motifs (Make 4)

Work exactly as the Central Drop Motif, but omit the Central Dangle instructions at the end of Rnd 5. Fasten off Green after Rnd 5.

Part 3: Small Connecting Motifs (Make 4)

With Light Beige thread:
Ch 6, sl st to first ch to form a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 1, 8 sc in ring. Join with sl st to first sc. (8 sc)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, *sc in next sc, ch 5* rep 8 times. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off Beige.
With Olive Green thread:
Rnd 3: Join Green with sl st in any ch-5 sp. Ch 1, (sc, picot, sc) in same ch-5 sp. *Ch 3, (sc, picot, sc) in next ch-5 sp* rep 7 times. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off Green.

Part 4: Assembly

Lay out your motifs: Central Drop Motif in the center. On either side of the Central Drop Motif, place a Main Flower Motif. Then on either side of those, place a Small Connecting Motif, followed by another Main Flower Motif.
Using Light Beige thread and tapestry needle, carefully sew the motifs together at the picot points or chain spaces where they naturally touch. Ensure connections are secure but remain flexible. For the central drop, attach one edge of the first two Main Flowers to the sides of its Rnd 5 ch-5 loops. Attach Small Connecting Motifs between the Main Flowers using their Rnd 3 picot points.
Attach single pearl beads to the ch-2 spaces (or strategic points) on the beige petals of the Main Flower Motifs. Use Beige thread to sew them securely.

Part 5: Necklace Strap

With Olive Green thread:
From the outer picot points of the outermost Main Flower Motifs on each side, attach Green thread. Ch 70-80 (or desired length for the back of the neck). Fasten off.
Repeat for the other side.

Part 6: Finishing

Weave in all loose ends carefully using the tapestry needle.
Attach a jump ring to one end of the chain strap and the clasp to the other end. Attach another jump ring to the remaining chain strap.
Gently block your finished necklace if desired, shaping it to lie flat.
