Materials

• Crochet thread or fine weight yarn (e.g., #1 Super Fine / Fingering) in Pale Pink
• Crochet thread or fine weight yarn (e.g., #1 Super Fine / Fingering) in Mint Green
• Crochet thread or fine weight yarn (e.g., #1 Super Fine / Fingering) in Cream
• Crochet hook (1.5mm or suitable for your thread)
• Small pearl beads (7 total: 1 for each square, 1 for the rose)

• Sewing needle and matching thread for beads
• Small lobster clasp and jump ring (optional, for closure)

Instructions

• Square Motif (Make 2 with Pale Pink center, 2 with Mint Green center, 2 with Cream center)
• Center (Use Pale Pink, Mint Green, or Cream yarn):
• MR. Ch 1, 8 sc in MR. Sl st to join to first sc. (8 sc)
• Round 2: *Ch 2, 2 dc in the same sc, ch 2, sl st in the next sc.* Repeat 4 times around. You will have 4 petals formed in every other sc, using 4 sc out of 8. Sl st to join. Fasten off. (4 Petals)
• Border (Use Cream yarn for all squares):
• Join Cream yarn into one of the unused sc from Round 1 (these are located between the petals).
• Round 3: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in the same sc. (This forms the first half of a side group).
• *[3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc] in the next unused sc (this forms a corner). 3 dc in the next unused sc (this forms a side group).* Repeat 3 more times. Sl st to join to the top of the beginning Ch 3. Fasten off. (4 corners, 4 sides of 3 dc each)
• Bead: Sew a small pearl bead securely to the center of each square motif.
• Rose Motif (Make 1 using Pale Pink yarn)
• Ch 26.
• Row 1: Work 2 dc in the 3rd ch from hook, 3 dc in the next ch. *(2 dc in the next ch, 3 dc in the next ch)* repeat across the chain. You will have a wavy strip.
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing. Starting from the end with the sc, coil the strip tightly to form a rose shape. Secure the base by sewing through all layers with the tail.
• Bead: Sew a small pearl bead securely to the center of the rose.
• Assembly
• Arrange the motifs as follows: One Pink-centered Square, one Cream-centered Square, one Mint-centered Square. Then the Rose Motif. Then one Mint-centered Square, one Cream-centered Square, one Pink-centered Square. This creates a chain of 6 squares with the rose in the center.
• Using Cream yarn and your crochet hook or yarn needle, carefully join the squares edge-to-edge. Join the Pink square to the Cream square, and the Cream square to the Mint square.
• Join one side of the leftmost Mint square to the left edge of the Rose Motif. Join the rightmost Mint square to the right edge of the Rose Motif.
• Continue joining: Mint square to Cream square, and Cream square to Pink square. Use a slip stitch or whip stitch for a neat seam.
• Neckband
• Using Cream yarn, attach yarn to the top corner of the leftmost Pink square. Ch 50-70 (or desired length for the neckband). Fasten off.
• Attach yarn to the top corner of the rightmost Pink square. Ch 50-70. Fasten off.
• You can either tie the ends together to wear the necklace, or attach a small lobster clasp to one chain end and a jump ring to the other for a more secure closure.
