Materials

• Crochet thread, size 10, in White
• Crochet thread, size 10, in Light Teal (or Mint Green)
• Steel crochet hook, 1.5mm (or size to achieve desired gauge)

• Small necklace clasp (lobster claw or toggle)

Instructions

Part 1: Individual Motifs

• Small White Flower (approx. 15-20):
  • Ch 4, sl st into first ch to form a ring.
  • Petal: Ch 2, 2 dc into ring, ch 2, sl st into ring.
  • Repeat Petal four more times (total 5 petals). Fasten off, weave in ends.
• White Flower with Teal Center (approx. 8-10):
  • Using Light Teal yarn, create a MR. Ch 1, 6 sc into MR. Pull tail to close ring. Sl st to first sc. Fasten off Light Teal.
  • Join White yarn into any sc of the teal center.
  • Petal: Ch 2, 2 dc into same sc, ch 2, sl st into same sc.
  • Sl st into next sc. Repeat Petal four more times, working into each sc around the teal center (total 5 petals). Fasten off, weave in ends.
• Teal Leaf (approx. 20-25):
  • Using Light Teal yarn, ch 5.
  • Sl st into 2nd ch from hook. Sc in next ch. Hdc in next ch. Dc in last ch.
  • Ch 1, turn to work along the other side of the starting chain.
  • Dc into the same last ch (where previous Dc was). Hdc in next ch. Sc in next ch. Sl st into the first sl st. Fasten off, weave in ends.

Part 2: Assembling the Necklace Strand

The necklace is assembled by joining motifs with short chains. This provides flexibility and allows you to customize the length and arrangement. Refer to the image for inspiration on motif placement and density. You will mostly be joining with Light Teal yarn, but sometimes with White for connecting white flowers directly.

• Start with the central section:
  • Begin with a White Flower with Teal Center. Join Light Teal yarn to the back of one petal, ch 3-5, then sl st to the tip of a Teal Leaf.
  • Continue in this manner, connecting motifs: Teal Leaf, ch 3-5, Small White Flower, ch 3-5, Teal Leaf, ch 3-5, White Flower with Teal Center, etc.
  • Vary the length of the chains (ch 2-5) to create a natural, flowing look. Overlap some leaves slightly for depth.
  • When joining a white flower to another white flower directly, you can use white yarn for the short connecting chain (ch 2-3).
• Building Each Side:
  • Work outwards from the center. The pattern is generally symmetrical, with heavier clusters of flowers and leaves towards the front and gradually thinning out towards the back of the neck.
  • For the neck strap, after the main floral cluster tapers, make a simple chain of desired length (e.g., ch 50-70) on each side, ending with a small loop (ch 5, sl st to form ring) for attaching your clasp.
  • Alternatively, you can make two separate floral strands and join them in the middle, then add the neck chains.
• Finishing Touches:
  • Weave in all remaining loose ends securely.
  • Attach your chosen necklace clasp to the loops at each end of the necklace.
  • Gently block your necklace by dampening it and shaping it to lie flat, then allowing it to air dry.
