Materials

• Crochet Thread, Size 20, Light Mint Green (Yarn A)
• Crochet Thread, Size 20, Pale Aqua Blue (Yarn B)

• Steel Crochet Hook, 1.25mm (US size 10)
• Seed Beads, Size 11/0, Clear/Iridescent

Instructions

Preparation: Thread approximately 100-150 seed beads onto each color of crochet thread before beginning, as they will be incorporated as you work.

Note: The necklace is formed by creating various individual motifs and then joining them together. Adjust the number of motifs to achieve your desired necklace length.

Leaf Motif (Make 15-20 in Yarn A, varying sizes)

• Small Leaf: Ch 10.
  Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st in last 2 ch. Ch 1, turn.
  Row 2: Working around the leaf, sl st into each stitch on the edge, working (sc, ch 2, sc) in the tip. Continue sl st down the other side. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for joining.
• Medium Leaf: Ch 12.
  Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in next ch, dc in next 4 ch, tr in next ch, dc in next ch, hdc in next ch, sc in next ch, sl st in last ch. Ch 1, turn.
  Row 2: Sl st into each stitch along the edge, working (sc, picot, sc) at the tip. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for joining.

Small Floral Motif (Make 10-12 in Yarn B and C, alternating)

Using Yarn B or C.

• Petal Layer 1: MR, ch 1. (Sc, ch 3, dc, ch 3, sc) into MR, sl st into MR. Repeat 4 more times for 5 petals. Sl st to join.
• Petal Layer 2 (Optional for more depth): Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc into the back loop of the sl st between petals from Layer 1. (Ch 3, dc into next sl st between petals) 4 times. Ch 3, sl st to top of first ch 3 to join.
  Round 2: In each ch-3 space, work (sc, hdc, [pull up a bead], dc, hdc, sc). Sl st to join. Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Large Floral Motif (Make 5-7 in Yarn C with Yarn B accents, or vice versa)

Using Yarn C.

• Center: MR, ch 1, 6 sc in MR. Sl st to join.
• Petal Layer 1: (Ch 4, dc into next sc, ch 4, sl st into same sc) in each sc around. (5 petals). Sl st to join.
• Petal Layer 2: Work into the back loops of the previous round’s sl sts. (Ch 5, tr into next sl st, ch 5, sl st into same sl st) in each sl st around. (5 petals). Sl st to join.
• Bead Embellishment: Thread a bead onto your hook and sl st through the center of each petal, securing the bead. Fasten off, leaving a long tail.

Assembly and Finishing

• Lay out your completed motifs in a desired necklace arrangement, graduating from smaller motifs at the ends to larger ones at the center front.
• Using the long tails or additional fine thread and a tapestry needle, carefully sew the motifs together at their touching points. Aim for a seamless, delicate join.
• For a polished look, you may choose to crochet a short chain with sl sts at each end of the necklace to attach the clasp, or simply attach the jump rings and clasp directly to the end motifs.
• Weave in all remaining loose ends securely.
