Materials

• Sport weight yarn in Red
• Sport weight yarn in Light Green
• Sport weight yarn in Yellow
• Sport weight yarn in Dark Red
• 2.5mm crochet hook
• Tapestry needle
• Small wooden beads (2)
• Scissors

Instructions

This pattern uses standard US crochet terms. Follow the instructions carefully to create your beautiful Poinsettia Bracelet.

• Round 1: Start with a MR. Ch 1. Work (sc, ch 2, 2 dc, ch 2, sc) into the ring 5 times. You will have 5 petals. Sl st to the first sc to join.
• Fasten off, weave in ends.

• With Yellow yarn and a tapestry needle, embroider 3-4 small French knots into the center of the poinsettia flower.
• Secure ends on the back.

• Row 1: Ch 7. Sc in the 2nd ch from hook, hdc in the next 2 ch, dc in the next 2 ch, sc in the last ch.
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail (approx. 15cm) for sewing.

• Row 1: Ch 2. Sl st into the 2nd ch from hook. (This is your first ‘bar’ for the rope chain).
• Row 2 onwards: Insert hook under the horizontal bar formed by the previous sl st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through both loops on hook (this creates another sl st, forming a dense cord).
• Repeat this step until your cord measures approximately 15-18 cm (or desired length to fit your wrist, excluding ties).
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail (approx. 15cm) on each end.

• Cut one 30cm strand of Dark Red yarn and one 30cm strand of Light Green yarn.
• Hold the two strands together. Make a chain for approximately 10-12 cm.
• Tie a secure knot at the end of the chain.
• Thread one small wooden bead onto the chained strands, push it up against the knot.
• Tie another knot directly after the bead to secure it in place.
• Repeat for the second adjustable tie cord.

• Using the long tails, sew the two Light Green Leaves onto the back of the Poinsettia Flower, positioning them so they peek out from behind the petals. Secure tightly.
• Center the assembled Poinsettia Flower (with leaves) onto the middle of your Light Green Main Bracelet Cord. Use the sewing tail from the flower (and maybe some extra red yarn) to securely stitch the flower to the cord. Weave in all ends.
• Attach one Dark Red & Light Green Adjustable Tie Cord to each end of the Main Bracelet Cord. Securely knot the start of the chain onto the end of the Main Bracelet Cord’s tail. Weave in any remaining tails from the Main Bracelet Cord into the adjustable tie, or trim neatly.
• Your beautiful Crochet Poinsettia Bracelet is now complete!
