Materials

• DK weight yarn in Forest Green (MC)
• DK weight yarn in Deep Red (CC)
• 3.5mm crochet hook
• Tapestry needle

• Small gold jingle bells (approx. 10-14)
• Red velvet ribbon (approx. 30 inches / 75 cm)

Instructions

Special Stitch: 5-dc Bobble Stitch (BO): Yarn over, insert hook into st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops (2 loops on hook). *Yarn over, insert hook into same st, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops* 4 more times (6 loops on hook). Yarn over, pull through all 6 loops on hook.

Instructions for one Collar Half:

Using Red yarn (CC)

• Row 1 (Foundation Chain): Ch 36.
• Row 2: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (35 sc)
• Row 3: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across, increasing evenly by placing 2 sc in approx. every 5th st (approx. 7 increases). (Approx. 42 sc)

Change to Green yarn (MC)

• Row 4: Ch 1, turn. Sc in first 2 sts, *BO in next st (this is where a pearl will be sewn later), sc in next 4 sts*. Repeat from * 7 more times. End with BO in next st, sc in last 2 sts. (8 BOs, 34 sc = 42 sts)

Change to Red yarn (CC)

• Row 5: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across, working into the top of each BO stitch and each sc. Ensure you increase slightly by making 2 sc in a few stitches evenly distributed to maintain the collar’s expansion (approx. 7 increases). (Approx. 49 sc). This is where red beads will be sewn later, in the “valleys” between green bobbles.

Change to Green yarn (MC)

• Row 6: Ch 1, turn. Sc in first 3 sts, *BO in next st (sew pearl later), sc in next 4 sts*. Repeat from * 8 more times. End with BO in next st, sc in last 2 sts. (9 BOs, 39 sc = 49 sts)

Change to Red yarn (CC)

• Row 7 (Final Edge): Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across, increasing to create a slight scallop effect along the bottom edge (e.g., 2 sc in every 5th st, approx. 10 increases). (Approx. 59 sc). Attach one small gold jingle bell to every 5th or 6th sc stitch using a small loop of yarn or by threading through the stitch before securing with a knot. Ensure bells are on the right side.

Finishing for one half:

• Fasten off and weave in all ends.
• Carefully sew the white pearl beads onto the center of each green Bobble Stitch.
• Carefully sew the red seed beads onto the Red rows (Row 5 primarily), placing them in the indentations between the green Bobble stitches of Rows 4 and 6, to mimic berries.

Assembly:

• Make a second identical collar half.
• Thread the red velvet ribbon through the stitches of the starting Red row (Row 1/2) of both collar pieces. Ensure it’s centered and long enough to tie a bow. Secure the ribbon ends if desired to prevent fraying.
