Materials

• DK weight yarn in Red (MC)
• DK weight yarn in White (CC1)
• DK weight yarn in Green (CC2)
• 3.5mm crochet hook

Instructions

Gauge: 20 hdc and 14 rows = 4 inches (10 cm). Adjust hook size if necessary.

Sizes: Approximately 6-12 months

Yoke (in MC):

• Rnd 1: Ch 72, join with sl st to first ch to form a ring, being careful not to twist. Ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc), hdc in each ch around. Join with sl st to top of ch 2. (72 hdc)
• Rnd 2: Ch 2, 2 hdc in next st, *hdc in next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st* rep around, hdc in last st. Join with sl st. (96 hdc)
• Rnd 3: Ch 2, hdc in next st, 2 hdc in next st, *hdc in next 3 sts, 2 hdc in next st* rep around, hdc in last 2 sts. Join with sl st. (120 hdc)
• Rnd 4-6: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. Join with sl st.

Divide for Sleeves and Body:

• Rnd 7: Ch 2, hdc in next 15 sts (front), sk next 24 sts (first armhole), hdc in next 30 sts (back), sk next 24 sts (second armhole), hdc in next 15 sts (front). Join with sl st. (60 hdc for body)

Bodice (in MC):

• Rnd 8-16: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. Join with sl st.

Waistband (in CC2 – Green):

• Rnd 17: Join CC2. Ch 1, sc in each st around. Join with sl st. (60 sc)

Skirt (in MC):

• Rnd 18: Join MC. Ch 2, *hdc in next st, inc* rep around. Join with sl st. (90 hdc)
• Rnd 19: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. Join with sl st.
• Rnd 20: Ch 2, *hdc in next 2 sts, inc* rep around. Join with sl st. (120 hdc)
• Rnd 21-36: Ch 2, hdc in each st around. Join with sl st. Fasten off.

Snowflake Embellishments (in CC1 – White, surface crochet):

• Using CC1 and a yarn needle, or by surface crocheting with sl sts, create star-like snowflake patterns on the skirt. Each snowflake can consist of a central point and 6 ‘arms’ radiating outwards. Start with a sl st, then ch 2-3, sl st back into the original point. Repeat 5 more times around the central point for each arm. Distribute them evenly around the skirt.

Skirt Edging (in CC1 – White):

• Join CC1 to the last rnd of the skirt.
• Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc in first st, sk 2 sts, *5 dc in next st (shell), sk 2 sts, sc in next st, sk 2 sts* rep around, ending with sc in the last st. Join with sl st. Fasten off.

Sleeve Edging (in CC1 – White):

• Join CC1 to the underside of one armhole.
• Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc evenly around the armhole opening (approximately 24 sc). Join with sl st. Fasten off.
• Repeat for the second sleeve.

Collar Edging (in CC1 – White):

• Join CC1 to the back of the neck opening.
• Rnd 1: Ch 1, sc evenly around the neckline (approximately 72 sc). Join with sl st. Fasten off.

Green Bow (in CC2 – Green):

• Ch 8.
• Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 1, turn. (7 sc)
• Rows 2-10: Sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn. (7 sc)
• Fasten off, leaving a long tail.
• Cinch the center of the crocheted rectangle tightly with the tail end to form a bow shape. Sew securely to the front of the dress at the waistband.

Finishing:

• Weave in all loose ends.
